I'll take 5-6. This team has very little talent on defense and the special teams will be the usual mess. The offense can/should score plenty of points.

I get that the ACC is pretty bad, but:
1. I've never seen this guy coach a game before nor have I seen the QB throw a pass before. I have a hard time believing they're worse than Daz and Grosel, but still...
2. The defense is going to be terrible until Hafley gets better talent in here
3. Special Teams will continue to be bad until the talent/athleticism improves (especially in the secondary since a bunch of those guys are the gunners, etc. on ST)
Love the Hafley hire and think it'll be great long-term, but I'd be pretty thrilled with .500 this year.

6-5 (5-5 ACC). If Jurkovec lives up to the hype and stays healthy, then maybe we'll have our 10-2 season.

Conservatively, I'd agree with this and your later comments. If Jurkovec and the other newcomers are just okay, 6-5 is where I see them. That said, they are going to score a lot of points and the margin for error for teams like VT and the Ville is small.

Anything less than the above 6-5 seems like a failure to me... Even Dazaster could do that the majority of years he was here.

Not with 10 conference games which includes #10 ND. Under the old 2020 schedule, 8-4 would have been a reasonable expectation.

Daz wasn't going 6-5 with this schedule.

You lost me at #10 ND... they won't even make the ACC title game this year. Mark it down.
Cue AngryDick defense in 3-2-1...

I’m with eppy on this. While I love the Hafley hire, it is going to take more than a couple months to rebuild the roster. Further, first time head coach plus entirely new coaching staff plus no Spring ball plus newly arrived QB plus the most difficult schedule since possibly Henning equals a losing record.

Hafley has a Coughlin-like feel to him. Accordingly, I see him having a similar first season... 4-7.

You forgot Duke, but based on your record, I guess you're saying that is an L.
Coughlin inherited a team that went 4-7 including a 29-10 loss at home to Temple to end the season. Their only wins in 1990 were over the academies, Rutgers and WVU. Also, Coughlin did not benefit from a handful of grad transfers to upgrade multiple positions of weakness in his first year.
Daz took a 2-10 team and went 7-6 in his first year.
