I’m shocked that Clemson can’t get anything going. Still, wonder if OSU is gonna pay the price for not getting the ball in the end zone.

If Clemson wakes up they get back in very easily.

Clemson back in this. OSU 16-14. Lawrence 67 yard TD run.
This will be a fun 2nd half.

We don’t need a bunch of out of touch dopes deciding 100% of the field

Just stupid.

BC isn’t making the playoff. So far, only 10 programs have. Expanding it to 8 teams is idiotic. First, this would mandate a spot for a non-Power 5 school (which is ridiculous). The rest of the additional spots will go to the SEC, B10 and ND (in years they don’t play anyone). So... great idea... let’s expand it so that there are more programs that permanently layered ahead of BC.

Btw... whoever keeps saying Bama should just stop watching football. Bama wasn’t the 4th best team in the SEC (LSU, UGA and Auburn were all better).

No shit BC isn't making the playoffs in the near future, but when/if Clemson comes back down to Earth, it would be nice to have an auto bid if BC were to win the ACC.

Clemson has the lead 21-16. Drive kept alive after OSU roughing the punter call. 99 yard drive.

Looked like a completed pass for Clemson to me. Clemson receiver fumbled and OSU returned for TD. Call on field reversed.

This game is over. Clemson can’t handle the tempo and can’t do anything but QB sneaks against Hafley. In the battle of RBs, Dobbins has been great and Etienne disappointing.

Btw... it is pathetic that folks here want the playoffs expanded so some sorta 9-3 BC squad can make it in an Elizabeth Warren Pizza-and-Ice-Cream for all fashion. If BC isn’t one of the best 4 teams, they shouldn’t be in. Just because they win the ACC in a down year shouldn’t demand a chance at a National Championship. Effing New England socialists.

Here's what you are not understanding: BC may be one of the 4 best teams, but the dumb ass members of the committee may have biases and not choose them.

Ryan Day made a huge rookie mistake by not going for it on 4th and 2 with 3 minutes left. He gained 35 yards with the punt, but he only had a 2 point lead with 3 minutes left and Clemson had 2 timeouts. That was a Daz move! Get the first down and CU burns their last two timeouts. Get another first down and go into victory formation. If you don’t get the first down you still have 3 minutes and two timeouts to get the ball back if you give up the lead. Giving the ball to Clemson with 3 minutes left was saying here you go, try to beat us. Day went for the TD on 4th down and he should have stayed aggressive and not punted the ball with 3 minutes left.

Hafley’s defense looked a lot like Don Brown’s defense. Tight coverage in the backfield and get after the QB. Ohio State’s defensive backs played an outstanding game.

Welcome Jeff HAFLEY and Go Eagles!

In fairness... it was 4th and 4 at the 39. The aggressive move is to believe in your offense to put the game away. But, most coaches would punt as a failed attempt would give your opponent a game winning FG in a mere 30 yards.

That said, I thought that entire series was a problem for HCRD. He reverted to his mentor and tried to runout the clock. The series before they moved the ball beautifully with tempo and quick throws. They had Clemson on its heels. Those quick plays were preventing Venables blitz to get to Fields. The OSU penultimate drive was a Dazoo special. Tons of runs. A lot of clock bleeding. Punt at the the opponents 39 in a short and manageable.

Hafley’s D was great. Generally, Clemson moved the ball only when their athletes burned them for chunks on busted plays where someone slipped or missed a tackle. Two TD drives were in series where Hafley’s D forced a punt but was pulled back onto the field because of a penalty (targeting and roughing the kicker). Between those give backs and the failed TDs to start the game, OSU simply let Clemson hang around too long.

Dobbins was great. He’ll be the first RB off the board. With the success of Jacobs and the money given to guys like Elliott, he will likely be a top 20 pick. Etienne... just don’t see it. He’s super fast. But, he’s more a WR than RB. Yeah. He’s deadly in space. But, in the NFL, he needs to be able to run in traffic. I always thought Dillon unfairly took a back seat to him.

Hafley plays a ton of 1 safety playing center field. He’s either going to hit the transfer market, move a CB, or abandon that cause the idea of Mike Palmer back there is worse than sparaccio on WRs

I think there was a little bit of favoring gritty over talent last year. I hope there may have been younger DBs who Daz was afraid to put on the field. That said, he should make the portal his friend for QB, DL and DB. You know... essentially half the effing roster.

Give HCRD credit. I get that Urban left him the most talented team in college football. But, he did a great job of masking Fields (so much so he was a Heisman finalist). Fields may eventually become great, but there was a reason he couldn’t win the starting QB job at UGA. He is simply not an elite passer or runner. The fact that he didn’t really throw a pick all year is mind-boggling. While it is likely the result of superior WRs and time given by a superior OL, it is also based on a scheme by HCRD to give Fields manageable throws and reads.

I dont care about BC making it. Selection should not be completely arbitrary and conference champs of major conferences should be rewarded. In most years, the UCFs of the world should be rewarded for running the table, at least the best of them. Then you can have two at large bids to pleasure yourself over the two SEC teams that "are the best" but couldnt win their conference.

Clemson at times this season was threatened with the possibility of not making it even if they went undefeated because people were rightfully shitting on Clemson's conference. That would have been a huge mistake. Fortunately luck took it out of the equation and made this broke system work.

Who did that? The selection committee or paid trolls like Feinbaum? I effing hate the “what if” scenarios that have never happened. You don’t redo entire the system because things could potentially happen. If a Power 5 conference champion is undefeated and left out of the playoffs, we can have that discussion. Until then, find something else to bitch as yet another year goes by without the slightest question as to who the best team is in college football.
