My preference, too. I think the decision rests on which team has the biggest buyout, and who brings the biggest crowd (HC will bring more than UConn).

Aside from ND, there isn't a single team I have any interest in playing on this schedule. @Army is cool I guess.

Mizzou game is at Arrowhead; the destination is worth the game, and it's an SEC team we have a chance of beating.

Rutgres is Rutgres, but the Schiano angle could make it a little more interesting... maybe?

Where are we playing UMass? Let's see if they have a program in two years. Have had fun at Foxboro in the past. No desire to go to UConn, however. I have serious doubts about them having a team (at least at the I-A level) four seasons from now.

Temple is at least a game that lots of BC fans can get to.

I don't understand the appeal here. I would love to do a home-home with an SEC school but not Missouri. And won't ArrowHead be empty?

Mizzou is definitely bottom 3 SEC teams worth facing, and i will not be making the trip

No debate better:

UGA
UF
Tenn
South Carolina
LSU
Bama
Auburn
aTm
Ole Miss
Vandy (nashville weekend)

In the mix:

UK
Miss St
Arkansas

I'd probably rather go to Miss St & Arkansas, leaving it tied w UK for worst

I haven't been to Lexington nor most places in the SEC, but it does seem like a game at UK would be more appealing than those SEC destinations you listed. Certainly more appealing than Starkville and Fayetteville. I would also put UK ahead of Vandy and of course, Missouri.

Arrowhead makes this trip less appealing in my mind. I don't enjoy college games at half empty pro stadiums off campus. It's one thing to have a half empty Alumni, but at least it's on campus and there is some college atmosphere to it. Watching BC play at Pitt a few weeks ago looked depressing for those Pitt fans.

It's the city that's the draw for me. I'm hoping that Kansas City will be a good time. For game atmosphere, Is it like playing Alabama or LSU? No, but it should be competitive. Missouri routinely draws 50-60,000 fans for home games, so I'm hoping that they will have a decent crowd, being the state's flagship university and the only D-1 program in the state.

Yes, in this order:

Vandy/Nashville
Ole Miss (fly into Memphis, Rendezvous barbecue, hour drive to The Grove)
LSU (we should rent a fucking river barge)
UGA / Tennessee (tie - if UT, we should rent a fucking river barge)
Auburn (two hours from ATL airport)
Bama (its Bama - Tuscaloosa is kind of a dump, but Dreamland Barbecue is strong)

If necessary:

USC (Columbia is like three blocks of one street and unless Jarmond takes you on Eagle One, forget about transporting here)

Ugh:

Florida
aTm
UK
Miss St / Arkansas

The idea that playing at Vandy is more appealing than playing at Georgia, Bama, Auburn, Florida, or LSU is absurd. If BC goes to Vandy and wins, who cares? If BC goes to LSU and wins, it's one of the best wins in program history. The opponent matters. Oh, and Death Valley looks awesome.

You can take a weekend trip to Nashville any time.

Buddy at work goes to a game at Gainesville every year. It’s not the Grove, but easily top half of the SEC for tailgating. You just have to be okay with leaving civilization for a day.

I've been to Athens for a weekend and thought it was a cool town and the stadium was in a nice location. It's also not too far from Atlanta. I think Georgia is a perfect combo of SEC powerhouse/good town and location and would be my number one choice. LSU #2.

No reason BC can’t allow fans to set up tailgates in the quads on campus. USC allows tents all over their campus. Even Harvard will lease a tent to you and provide coolers with ice. Perfect for young alums who want to Uber to the game, meet up with friends and tailgate at a rented tent.

I'd be very interested to read the contract that was signed. I wouldn't be surprised if the contract stipulated:
  • that Ohio State was free to push back the one-and-one as much as they want provided the game was not scheduled in the next couple of seasons AND
  • (most importantly) Ohio State is free to cut a check to Boston College and BUY their way out of the game in Boston for any reason

BC is just going to bend over and continue to be treated like the battered wife here. And why? Ohio State has (what?) 5% of ALL of the collective college football clout/power all to themselves? Maybe more? They probably have more clout/power than Notre Dame and MUCH more clout/power than Clemson. And its probably only Texas, LSU, and Alabama that each (individually) have more clout/power than Ohio State. I don't think there is any chance that the Buckeyes would ever actually play Boston College at Alumni. It would have to be Foxboro (the way it was for Alabama in the 1980s) or New Jersey (the way it was in 1995.) If BC (on principle) refuses to move the game away from the 44,500 seat Alumni as stipulated in the contract, the Buckeyes will likely just cut BC a fuck-you-we-are-out check the day after BC plays in Columbus.
