Florida State Week

Postby DomingoOrtiz on Sun Nov 03, 2019 6:49 pm

Unfortunately, FSU fired their, terrible, coach.
We need Long and/or Idrizi to get healthy.

Forecast is sunny with a high of 34 degrees. Fans and FSU's game will likely be nonexistent.

A 5 loss FSU team with a temp coach and 30 degree weather sounds like a recipe for FSU players quitting. I’m liking our chances.

I felt better about this game before Taggart got fired.
"I have history, and I understand history, so I know where we’ve been and where we are, and where we are trying to go, okay? But it’s been somewhere between 6.5 and 6.6 wins a year since 1980, which is 38 years. We’re at 7..."

Agreeance. This could give them a spark. That said, Taggart was able to out dual the Dazzler last year.

I spent yesterday at Costco, but I did read the box score, and I believe that Le Gros Bill is the best QB we've had since Matt Ryan. FSU is toast.

I could see this as well. Nothing would be more Daz then blowing out a team in a must win game to only get embarrassed the following week. BC football gets my hopes up just as C.B. thinks he is going to be able to kick that football only for Lucy to pull the ball away at the last second.

There are no WTF games with Addazio. In order for the game to be a WTF loss, the team has to be mathematically superior to the opponent. This is still Florida State and not Florida Community College. And Addazio could never recruit like :toby

Will this be the Red Bandana Game? If so, have to think that will help us avoid a let down vs. FSU.

2 months removed from 9/11. It will have zero bearing on the outcome.

Also at 12 pm. Has the bandana game ever been during the day before? Definitely not going to have the same atmosphere.

Before the game, Baum tweeted that Dalton was out, Garrison was out for the season with a knee injury and Luchetti moved to TE.

He wasn't good at DE, can't imagine he'll be good at TE

1 sack and 5 TFL isn't bad for a redshirt freshman not playing his natural position on the other side of the ball.
Jesus, the speed at which you write these players off is comical.

He showed good athleticism. I like him at TE but that hurts our DL as he was in the rotation.

Odell Haggins is undefeated as a head coach. He went 2-0 as the interim HC when Jimbo left for TAMU in 2017. Just saying.

If we "assume" that Oklahoma knocks off Baylor AND Oregon and Utah run the table in the month of November (those should be safe bets), I think its pretty safe to say the following:

  • Clemson will be undefeated and in the playoffs
  • The winner of the SEC Championship, be it Georgia, Alabama, or LSU will be in the playoffs
  • The winner of the Utah-Oregon game in early December will be in the playoffs
  • Oklahoma, Ohio State, Penn State, or Minnesota gets the last spot

The playoff committee will never put a 1-loss Power-Five champion into the playoffs over an undefeated Power-Five champion. That will not happen. There is no logical defense for that. I don't care where Minnesota is currently ranked, they control their own destiny. They beat Ped-State on Saturday, they go from 17th in the country to maybe 8th in the country. So Oklahoma isn't competing with the Pac-12 for that last playoff spot, they are competing with the Big-T(14)N. And in that sense, Oklahoma really want Minnesota to LOSE on Saturday because a Big-T(14)N championship game between two undefeated teams, they are not making the playoffs.

If Baylor runs the table (wont happen, but if it does), the Pac-12 may suck a lemon..... again.
