Sad part is that Daz is 2-4 against SU. The Orange have passed by BC in the Atlantic.

Sad part is really that you're not embarrassed enough to not post

You sure about that? This is SU's first bowl-eligible season in 5 years.

No. If you can't get bowl eligible in this day and age, you are horrible. 60% of FBS teams get bowl bids. One 9 win season does not compensate for 4 years of garbage indoor football. When is the last time BC had a stretch that bad? '95-'98?

I think we are always going to be susceptible to a team that can pile points on in a hurry. Purdue wasn't a great team on the whole this year either, but they had a high scoring offense.

Very rarely is a program willing to be a permanent stepping stone. My guess is that their interest in Third Down is to get someone who is unlikely to leave for another gig (because of his advanced age).

So... Temple wound up hiring Manny Diaz. They also brought in Fran Brown as the DC. Fran Brown was one of the finalists for the head coaching job and seems to be the contingency plan for when Diaz leaves. Fran Brown also happenes to be Jermaine Donaldson's cousin and a main reason he re-committed to Temple after de-committing and was about to sign with BC.

By the time Daz leaves the Heights, Mahomes may have entered the coaching ranks.

Houston backed by a big donor is supposedly going after Holgorsen, who seems to want out of WVU. Not sure why he would take a G5 job except for $$$$.

Holgorsen would look really good in Miami. News articles have Mario Cristobal and Butch Davis in the running. I can see the former not the latter. I could also see them bringing back their former DC (Schiano). If that happens, I could see Al Golden taking over Defense in Columbus.

Houston... who cares.

The Houston thing started because Holgorsen still keeps a house there and remains buddies with the big donor from when he coached there.

For all the appearance of standards Richt has for leaving b/c of 7-6, my first thought is there must be violations of some sort kicking around. While Miami grads are a little nuts about the program, that doesn’t seem like the hardest place to weather a down year (poorly attended games, pro- and SEC focused media market). Kinda like BC in that way.

It sounds like he retired over firing his kid. I got a front row seat for Richt the coach. Nice guy. Really good recruiter at Georgia. Bad gameday coach.

After the Pinstripe Bowl, the Miami AD made some comment about this year being unacceptable but that he and Richt would have the Canes back to winning National Championships. So, I truly think this was Richt leaving on his own.

To further support this belief, they just hired Manny Diaz (last years DC). He was hired 2 weeks ago at Temple.

So, that means Temple is back open. However, they hired as their DC the runner-up to Diaz. Have to assume that he gets the gig now.

They are bound. You sign a contract with a school... not a coach. However, almost every school will let out a recruit in a situation like this (including those who signed with Miami). But, most will ask the recruit to wait until the new hire is in place.

As for BC... we lost one player to Temple (the late offer to OL that we tried to flip). He held at Temple when they hired his cousin to be a coordinator. That same coach is highly likely to be elevated to head coach. Meaning that there is likely nothing to see here from a BC recruiting perspective.

It’s up to the school that you committed to. If they decline to release you from the LOI, then you lose a year of eligibility if you go to another institution.

I believe the new rule is that the players no longer need permission to transfer. Also, if the coach leaves the current recruits can get out of their LOI. I thought that was mentioned as a reason why Ryan Day was hired before the early signing period.
