Yeah, they're not good - made worse by a bunch of monkeys "coaching" this team.
They really aren't not good. It's the same team that rolled everyone away the end of last season. Unless you think Wade was the difference. Its 1000% philosophy and coaching. This team is unprepared, sloppy, and look disinterested.
The coaching deficiencies are a given. But at some point, you have to dial back on the "talent" argument when you see repetition of the same film loop game after game, on BOTH offense and defense.
They are in danger here...a real WTF loss after trying to nurse a 10 pt. lead going back to the 6 min. mark of the third quarter.
No you don't. It's the same players. This is all terrible coaching with injury excuses.
Yeah the team is pretty good, just not good enough to overcome whatever the fuck it is that Addazio does here
This. They aren't Clemson, they can't overcome a moron coach.
I guess it may depend in part how good you think Purdue and Temple really are. If they turn out to be .500 teams, then I think you can question the talent level. There is not a gimme the rest of the way based on whst I've seen.
BC didn't play the way they did last week because of talent. Making excuses. They're talented enough to win every game. They might get 8.
OK...whatever....your talent assessments clearly are based on factors that have yet to exhibit themselves on the field of play in now three games against opponents that most thought were gimmes this year.
They have an NFL running back that isn't running well against terrible teams. Im assuming that's playcalling and not that he lost his talent.

As long as you concede that the OL is part of that disguised talent pool you are touting. This OL has one thing going for it experience. But given the recent performance of the OL these past 3-4 years, under Addazio, simply assuming experience=talent or dominance is a stretch. In 3 games they have been less than stellar even with that NFL caliber running back. Now give me the 9 man in the box rag....then, watch them try and pull to the edge...or hold a block....slow, ambling, ineffective...
I agree violently that coaching is deficient. I simply am not willing to concede a superior talent argument, because like you have graded QBs even without significant in game experience, I am grading on what I've seen on the last three games everyone thought were sure Ws.
innocentbystander {l Wrote}:Yeah, they won. BFD. Initial thoughts (watching that whole game from beginning to end)
- This is not a very good BC team. BC's players are just not any better than Temple's players no matter what we have bene irrationally wanting to believe
- Temple outplayed BC today. Temple controlled the line of scrimmage on both offense and defense
- The ONLY reason BC won, is because BC made more BIG PLAYS than Temple did (3 more BIG PLAYS in fact) and Temple had way too many penalties
- The players have no reason to be happy about today (offense couldn't stay on the field, defense couldn't get off the field)
BC's high water mark (for this season) will be 8-4. That is the best they can do. They can not beat Clemson, Syracuse, or Miami. They can't. It's impossible. If they get super lucky against VPI and NCState (get more "big plays" than those teams) then maybe they win those games, and that is assuming that AJ Dillon is at least 90% next week. What is likely to happen is they split those two games and they wind up with yet another 7-5 season.

How many true power running teams run high tempo? No sarcasm - I simply can’t think of any.

Where his pass blocking was terrible.
