Was basically fresh out of college and spent a year at BC before moving to a higher end P5 conference program where he is now doing fund raising. Said that the hire was coming out of the MAC come hell or high water and when Christian emerged as the club house leader a couple of Big XII people reached out to warn them that it would be a really bad fit and that Bates dismissed them without circulating the reports.
Jibes with what I heard from a friend who is a big TCU booster who told me that they reached out to some BOT people they have business relationships with to warn them about Christian and that they were shocked to find that they (the BC BOT folks) had no view or input into the hiring process.

Apparently all his gay players hated the homophobic slurs

Seems Eustachy has also fallen victim to hurting the feelings of special snowflakes. Have to think that Daz wouldn't be able to survive in many programs beyond BC and the service academies.

That's right, he failed miserably at TCU before they switched to a Big Boy conference. In fact he left because they were switching to a Big Boy conference.

This. The word at TCU, which filtered around the Big XII, was that Christian wet himself and self-identified himself back to the MAC at the thought of having to coach against some actual basketball powers. The notion Bates hired him to coach at a school with a far smaller appetite for athletic success than TCU to coach in a conference that is superior to the Big XII.

If he didn't want to coach against "actual basketball powers" then why did he accept a job in the ACC?

so as long as he bare minimums, like ts slaughter did, he will be here for as long as he wants to stay...
oh goodie

He hasn't shown an ability to bare minimum yet, unlike slaughter, who has proven he can get to 7 or 8 despite sucking. Probably tougher job for Christian, but he isn't going to coast on what he is doing right now.

to your point... what is bare minimum for a basketball coach? i'd say making the tournament is above bare minimum so what is the mendoza line for h00pZ?
is 0.500 fair? beeker got to 0.500 and that still felt like a failure so i'd argue 0.500 isn't good enough (but i've been told throughout my life that my expectations are too high).
0.500 in conference seems to be too high a bar so maybe just a flat out 0.500 for the season. he's not making that this year. and, to your point, i'm not so sure he's making that next year either
eepstein0 {l Wrote}:Look at the roster next year. How on earth is he getting to .500?

so clearly you're the "sky is falling" eo coaching staff and teddy is the "way too overly optimistic about how many games the team is going to win" eo coaching staff.
the question all of us have is... which one is the catcher of the eo coaching staffs

The only guys over 6'6" on next year's roster are Popovic and Reyes. That is terrifying
Corporal Funishment {l Wrote}:I think he needs roughly 7-8 wins next year not to get fired, but that estimate is dependent on things like how well he's recruiting and if we have a bunch of injuries as well
.500 at BC is extension territory as we all know
edit to answer question: it's 4 open scholarships next year AFTER you count Kraljevic as a filled scholarship. There is a 99% chance we have a 5th year at either the 4 or 5
