I watched it. These were two very evenly matched teams and the last 5 minutes were entertaining in the sense that it was a see-saw battle where both sides were making shots when they needed to. So if you just ignore the fact that it was a power 5 school against the projected cellar dweller of the America East, you could enjoy it!
That said, Hartford deserved to win. The refs tried to hand it to us with a super bogus flagrant 1 with a minute left and still couldn't take the gift. The hit big (open) 3 after big (open) 3 late.
The good news is that young squad out on the court at the end - which included 3 23 year olds - will surely learn from this experience.

Why people continue to watch this idiocy I don't know.
How this coaching staff has managed to turn kids with really solid offer sheets into this I will never know

It's amazing. All these retards are on twitter whining about talent and the same old BS. It's not elite ACC level talent but it's the best it's been in 7-8 years, and they're still pulling this shit

twballgame9 {l Wrote}:You guys watched? Ha.
Bender {l Wrote}:This is not the best talent in 7-8 years, but these last two classes have been solid, solid enough to not lose to low D1 teams. I think it's perfectly fair for a BC fan to refuse to spend any money on BC athletics until the whole athletics department is overhauled. The decline in the Football, Basketball and Women's basketball programs in the last ten years is comical. It's almost as if they wanted athletics to fail as part of some conspiracy to eliminate athletics at BC altogether. It's all so depressing.

Are you kidding ? Donahue didn't bring 1 person with legitimate D1 interest (not to mention offers - ironically the one guy I think he had committed who has turned out to be moderately successful is the kid playing @ ND this year). Name a year under Donahue or JC that have had more talent and depth than this year. To Christian & staffs credit, theyve recruited reasonably well all things considered (lack of recent success/facilities) and have drastically upped athleticism. I think Epstein said it, but it was beyond stupid to not bring in a PG last year and have to rely on 2 TFR this year and the staff has whiffed 2 years in a row on getting a 4 man with whom they faced little competition for in revruiting. Although he won't use the youth excuse, JC could legitimately make a case with 2 inexperienced PGs on the roster.
Like Addazio, when JC (and Addazio) are fired, assuming a relatively competent individual is brought in, you will probably see a fairly competitive product assuming limited attrition.

Football isn't as bad as you all make it out to be.
Yes it is that bad. They stink.
Serious question/concer, is it feasible to kick BC out Of the ACC? From a financial and perfection point of view it would make sense to replace them with a big 12 school or Houston. The conference already has the northeast market with Syracuse and Pitt and could greatly benefit from getting into the Texas area.

POWERLESS INDEX
Both teams were rated in the 300s in the latest RPI (rating percentage index) entering the game.
BC was 311 and Hartford 337.
The Eagles shot 22.2 percent in the opening half, with the Hawks hitting only 26.9.
WHERE'S THE CROWD
The teams played in front of a sparse gathering - one of the smallest remembered in the history of Conte Forum since it opened in 1988 (minus games played during winter-weather conditions). The attendance was listed as 2,274.
