2014 Eagle {l Wrote}:Nice to close the gap there- but man, those are not the types of shots we want to be encouraging. Some chucking there, with a little help from the backboard.
I like Diallo a lot, if he would stop taking fouls 40ft away from the basket. He could really improve his game just by playing smarter, and being able to stay on the court longer

They need a PG and PF beyond all else. Until they get these things they might as well forfeit.
2014 Eagle {l Wrote}:Outscored by 22 in the second half...trying to not get too down on this team, given I didn't expect them to have a chance until Clemon in late February anyways. But with they way the team just get dominated game after game, it's hard to find too much to keep me interested

Honestly, it's not worth watching. You can't even watch for individual development because of carter and Clifford dominating the offense.
I haven't given up on a few of the freshmen and I still have some hope that next year will be a lot better but twenty plus point losses every conference game plus the Carter show make this season unwatchable.

i started a thread about needing bigs earlier in the season. its a glaring need. i'm fine with a JROB/Graves backcourt for 17-18-19, Turner should develop at the 3, and Diallo is a serviceable 5 man currently and has the potential to develop. we have backcourt depth with SBT and Hicks and Millon. Meznieks whatever he's a bench player for forward, he's in a big time slump right now (currently an amazing 0-11 in ACC play, and 0-3 from FT in ACC play; hasn't made a shot yet in 2016) but has to be better than what he's doing right now.
will Reyes get a medical redshirt? he only appeared in 7 games and played a total of 59 minutes. less than an hours of hoops, that should be a redshirt.
we desperately need front court help. i think i read on here Sagay is envisioned to be a stretch 4 type, and we have Popovic as well, but i'd like to add to those guys. Marfo would have been perfect.
breaking down the roster as guards, wings and bigs, i see the 16-17 BC roster as:
G: JROB (SO), Graves (FR), Hicks (R-JR), SBT (SO), Millon (SO)
Wings: Turner (SO), Owens (SR), Meznieks (SO)
Bigs: Diallo (R-SO), Reyes (RS-FR?), Popovic (FR)

is Graves not a PG?
how can Christian be worse than Donahue, i didn't think that was possible. this is a complete nightmare.

Graves is a PG and will fix that part of the mess. I am extremely skeptical of this unicorn PF coming next year after JC steers this team to 0-18.
I'm working on the pine tree...no promises there.

Mezinkas hasn't made a shot in 2016, including an air ball from the FT line. Letting Steve Vasutria go by you over and over should earn him a one way ticket back to Europe.
jbrooks58 {l Wrote}:So what he hasn't made a shot in 2016? You act like who shoots alot. When you apply the context of 0-11 it doesn't seem bad. Carter has missed more than that in one game. Go look at the stat sheet from this game as well as the performance by the other freshman. If you still think Meznieks played worse than JROB, Owens, Hicks, and Clifford then you are blind.
