While I was looking at the stupid gif contest thanks to walrus, I noticed that HockeyRuption did an "UH OH" on some comments he made. Then they proceeded with their BU hockey coverage.

Yeah what was that about? And did Hanifin delete his rebuttal? Either way, didn't look good. And the more I listen to Bracco, the more I hear a kind of whiny immature Long Islander. Pick your destination and let's move on.

Wild prospect Tuch injured in exhibition game

Monday, 08.03.2015 / 10:26 PM

By Mike G. Morreale - NHL.com Staff Writer / 2016 World Junior evaluation camp blog

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- Forward Alex Tuch, chosen No. 18 by the Minnesota Wild in the 2014 NHL Draft, sustained a knee injury during an exhibition game and will be re-evaluated Tuesday to determine if he can continue his participation in the USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp this week.

Tuch was injured in the first period of a 10-3 loss to Finland on Monday at Lake Placid Olympic Center's 1980 Herb Brooks Arena.

Tuch, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-handed shot, had 14 goals and 28 points in 37 games for Boston College in Hockey East last season.

"We've been challenging Alex to be a more intimidating in-your-face player," U.S. coach Ron Wilson said. "He got hurt on his second shift [Monday] and had to leave the game. We could have used him when it was getting out of control out there."

The evaluation camp will help determine the final roster for the United States at the 2016 World Junior Championship in Finland, to be played from Dec. 26, 2015, through Jan. 5, 2016. Tuch had one goal and two points in five games at the 2015 WJC in Montreal and Toronto.

That ain't good. Hopefully this isn't a anything major....

On a brighter note, at least the rat dogs just lost one of their top incoming recruits for next season.

Man, earlier in the offseason, I thought that Savage may get squeezed into the stands with our D depth but now I guess the question is will Jeke get regular play this year? I actually think hes been just fine when he plays, but Jerry doesn't like something if he was playing McMullen 5 mins a game instead of putting him in last year.

agreed re savage. they're an injury away from some serious depth ?s...too bad linell isn't around to play out of place

on noah, i still don't get the decision from either side.

from the cane's pov they're going to be terrible so why get him closer to ufa?
from noah's pov he's obviously incredibly talented but he's 18 and besides eklbad what 18 year old dman is ready for the nhl?

Meh, I thought everyone was too sure of a top 5 draft pick coming back for one more year. I too would be surprised to see him up for the majority of the season. Maybe the canes just prefer to be hands on in the development of their top prospects and would rather he sit a year in their affiliate rather than continue with Jerry?

Either way, would've loved to have him back (obviously).

Ding, ding, ding. They want full control over his development and I'm not sure they would have him sit in the AHL. First off, the team sucks. Second, their d-core sucks. Third, they gave Justin Faulk full reign after one year in college and he was a significantly less heralded prospect than Hanifan. Now all D are different and this could more turn into a Larsson or Fowler type thing where it somewhat stunts his development for a year or so, but that's a decent risk you can take, especially since he's not subject to the AHL age rule.

Again, I think I said this elsewhere too, but having a highly-touted top of the field draft pick in the NCAA still isn't that common of an occurrence. I mean top 5/top 10 level. So when we look at guys like Krieder and Hayes who were mid to late 1st round picks as an example... its not the same thing.

BCI has the 2015-2016 schedule posted, based on other schools' schedules. One game is home vs. Maine on 11/7. The football team is hosting NC State that day. No way hockey plays Maine on a football gameday. I'm guessing the hockey game takes place on Sunday afternoon.

2015 Hockey East Recruiting Rankings by Class

By Jeff Cox@JeffCoxSports on Sep 15, 2015, 5:00p +

There is no Jack Eichel or Noah Hanifin in this year's crop of Hockey East freshmen, but there are some impact players who could change the landscape at the top of the league standings.

There's little doubt that Boston College has the top class in the league as Jerry York and his staff have stockpiled several blue chippers among the newest members of the Eagles.

Boston University isn't far behind, but the Terriers' were dealt a crushing blow when Maxim Letunov opted for UConn late in the summer.

Speaking of the Huskies, Mike Cavanaugh and his staff have done a great job elevating the talent level in Storrs, but this is by far the best class for that staff as it enters year three. UConn benefited from two players defecting from other Hockey East programs.

1. Boston College

This is a star-studded class headlined by three potentially huge impact players up front in Jeremy Bracco, Colin White and Miles Wood. Goaltender Chris Birdsall likely won't see much time between the pipes, barring an injury to starter Thatcher Demko, but he will be a key piece of the future.

York has typically shied away from older freshmen, but big '95 defenseman Josh Couturier, a former Northeastern commit, was added to the class this past December. The other defensive recruit is a familiar name to BC and hockey fans. Casey Fitzgerald, a USNTDP product and former Malden Catholic Lancer, is the brother of BC junior Ryan and son of New Jersey Devils Assistant GM Tom.

Also joining the Eagles are three forwards who are more energy, third-fourth line types in JD Dudek, Chris Brown and Chris Shero.

Impact Player: While White and Wood might have more pro upside, look for Jeremy Bracco to make the biggest contribution out of this year's rookies. The second round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs is small, but his stick skills and offensive creativity are off the charts. His speed isn't overwhelming, but he's magical with the puck and can make some slick passes even in traffic.

Sleeper: Dudek, a sixth round selection of the New Jersey Devils in 2014, comes to BC from the USHL. The Kimball Union alum isn't likely to make a big difference on the offensive side of the ice, but he's a good skater with high hockey IQ. He could be a real solid third or fourth liner that could occasionally chip into the offense. His father Joe finished ninth in the 1985 Heisman Trophy voting as a Division III player at Plymouth State, the highest ever for a non-Division I player.

2. BU
3. UConn
4. PC
5. UVM
6. NU
7. UMass
8. UML
9. ND
10. MC
11. UNH
12. Maine

This class will bring much needed depth, especially up front, to a roster that has lacked it over the past couple of years.

Kudos to Cav for what he's doing at UConn. They got a huge bump when a 2nd round NHL pick was having academic eligibility issues at BU but for some reason is ok at UConn.

BU loses a shit ton of offense but will be very deep on the blue line.

Demko may be out for the start of the year to finish recovery from his hip surgeries.

Do we have another goalie other than incoming fr. Birsdall on the roster?

2 players added for 2nd semester: http://bceagles.com/news/2016/1/6/MIH_0106161020.aspx

The Boston College hockey program has added two student-athletes to its roster for the second half of the 2015-16 season, including goaltender Ian Milosz and defenseman Michael Kim. Both products make their way to The Heights from the Boston Junior Bruins organization of the United States Premiere Hockey League (USPHL).

Milosz, a 6-foot-7 goaltender from North Grafton, Mass., played 17 games for the Boston Jr. Bruins this season, posting a 2.20 goals against average and a .924 save percentage. The season prior, Milosz started the 2014-15 season with the Connecticut Jr. Rangers (USPHL), playing in 17 games with a 4.06 goals against average and a .900 save percentage before finishing the final eight games of the season with the Boston Jr. Bruins. In 2014-15, Milosz was named a USPHL Elite Champion.

Kim, a 6-foot-0 defenseman from Toronto, Ontario, was added to the Eagles' roster just before the Florida College Hockey Classic Tournament and played against Providence on Tuesday, Dec. 29. The newcomer recorded one shot on net and finished with a minus-1 rating. Prior to joining BC, Kim tallied 27 points from the blue line with the Boston Jr. Bruins, including five goals and 22 assists. In 2014-15, Kim logged 19 points (4-15-19) in 48 outings with the Junior Bruins. Kim also played three seasons at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., skating in 78 total contests and accruing 40 points (14-26-40).

Both Milosz and Kim were scheduled to attend Boston College next fall and be members of the 2016-17 incoming class, but as this year's roster thinned out due to injuries and departure, head coach Jerry York looked to bolster the depth of his club.

"With an extended injury to Brendan Silk and the departure of Jeremy Bracco, we needed more depth on our roster," York said. "Michael (Kim) has already proven he can be a valuable asset and we welcome his presence to our lineup.

"Ian (Milosz) will be a valuable asset to our club. Due to an injury to goaltender Chris (Birdsall), Ian's presence was needed for practice and we look for him to play an important role for our team here in the second half."

kim played last week and apparently looked fine. as York noted with bracco gone and not being able to count on silk for the rest of the year they needed another skater. the interesting thing is that he's a dman. Doherty & jeke played F last week

birdsall has been dealing with concussion issues.

The new "kid" is also 20, seven months older than Demko. At least he's not going to be a scared 18 year old. Still, not happy about Demko being out for what may be our toughest stretch of the year. Hope it's only a game or two.
