Wow, was that article pure crap. It was essentially a blogpost that took all of the accusations that have ever been laid out, sorted them into a timeline, presented them as fact, and threw in some quotes from several butthurt individuals. They act like they're actually telling us something new, and that they actually have real evidence.
Quotes like this truly spell out the nefariousness of the Patriots. They were clearly the only ones to ever work on deciphering an opposing team's signals ... in any sport...
The practice of decoding signals was universal in football -- a single stolen signal can change a game -- with advance scouts jotting down notes, then matching the signal to the play. The Patriots created a novel spying system that made the decoding more dependable.
OK, so they were better at doing something everyone was doing? The thing the Patriots are guilty of is stupidity and arrogance. As they began achieving success and other teams were becoming "Jealous .... haters," they stupidly didn't stop their version of signal stealing after the league warned teams to stop taping from the stands. Had they simply stopped doing it so brazenly, they would never have provided fodder for the rest of the league and their fans. Of course, hundreds of thousands of idiots across the country, people that think ESPN actually has journalistic credibility, will jump all over this vomit so they can jump back into the Social Media battlefield for the anti-Pats Jihad.
I do find it ironically amusing that the two writers of this garbage have the words "Natta" and "Sham" in their names. Seems rather appropriate....
