Am I reading this right? I thought I remember rumors having him around $1.5-2 million.

Hell, BC paid Al Skinner more than they paid Jerry in 2013.

Just flipped through the rest of the doc quickly. Looks like on page 46 that his base comp is $1.8 mill. The other $750k is under "other reportable compensation" which could be housing. There's references to travel, housing allowances, country club memberships, etc on the following pages.
And, yeah... can't find any references to Spaz, so maybe BC's not paying him? It could be buried elsewhere in the doc. This statement covers the first year after his firing so you would think he would have gotten something.

Maybe they bought him out?

Wait, when was he shitcanned? The prior year 990 shows Spaz getting $1,100,938 for the fiscal year 6/12-5/13.

November 2012, so that $1.1 million was his normal compensation. According to last year's article in the heights, compensation is determined by calendar year, which is why you don't see Daz in the prior year 990 even though he was hired in December 2012. http://bcheights.com/news/2014/yorks-salary-jumped-in-2012/

No one was arguing this. Another poster pointed out Donahue made 2x as much. That still seems right in theory (before we get to the part where Donahue was our coach). Football and basketball bring national exposure. Hockey, as wonderful as it is, is still a regional sport in the college ranks.
HJS {l Wrote}:First, the fact that GDF did nothing to get rid of Spaz does not foreclose Bates from raising an issue in negotiations over the buyout.
Second, that 700k in "other income" is too high for supplemental housing costs. How much did we have to pay Temple's buyout?

Wouldn't that show up as a payment to Temple and not within Daz's compensation, or would the buyout $ go through Daz?

Regarding Spaz, I checked the older statements (available here: http://www.bc.edu/offices/controller/financials.html) and there's no mention of Jagz in the years following his firing. Maybe the buyouts are executed somehow that they are not considered reportable compensation?
On Daz's other comp, on page 56, you can see that BC loaned money to Daz, Bates, and others for mortgages. I don't see any consistency with these figures and those in the other reported comp (for example, the mortgages extended to Bates, Donahue, etc are a few $100k higher than what's listed under other reported comp). So, who knows. I guess we'll have to wait and see what his other reported comp looks like next April.
