Unfortunately, I think this shit might actually happen now that Boston beat SF and LA for the US bid. If Paris jumps in, we may get saved.

If hosting the games in 2024 fast-tracks the indoor practice facility, is it worth it?

You are thinking too small. BC should agree to foot a portion of the 60,000 seat Olympic venue in Southie and convert it into a dome with filled in corners!

I'll be out of my condo in the city long before then and was planning to keep it to rent - you can be damn sure I'm keeping it now.

Thought it was el salvador?
twballgame9 {l Wrote}:I think that a lot of the bad things you hear are related to cities that have no capacity for it. Boston would be a nightmare in its present form, but at least there is some capacity there - public transportation (while terrible now) hotels (although not enough) major international airport (though a pain in the ass) existing sports venues.
I think they would have to pour money into certain things, but not as much money as other cities outside the US. And it does have the potential, if they do it right, to make Boston a world class city, because they will need to fix many of the things that now limit it.
In the end it's not worth the price tag and it has the potential to be a disaster if they half ass it. I also will be on vacation those two weeks. That said, it's not as horrible as other Olympics have been and it could have some benefits.
