Notre Dame might not make the College Football Playoff in the next three seasons, but it is seeking a strength of schedule with that in mind.
Notre Dame's next three seasons of football will include games against Texas and Arizona State and an appearance at Fenway Park in addition to the inception of its five-game annual schedule against ACC opponents.
The Fighting Irish will play a home-and-home against Texas in 2015 and 2016, and the resumption of its rivalry with Boston College will occur Nov. 21, 2015 at Fenway Park in Boston, home of the Boston Red Sox.
From 2012-16, Notre Dame will have 29 combined regular-season games against 13 different teams that ranked in the Bowl Championship Series standings at some point in 2013 – five each versus Stanford and USC, three versus Michigan and Michigan State, two each versus Oklahoma, Texas, Miami and Arizona State, plus one each versus Florida State, Clemson, Duke, Virginia Tech and Louisville.
"Our schedules the next three seasons, combined with our 2012 and 2013 schedules, truly exhibit Notre Dame's intention to celebrate our independence," says Notre Dame vice president and director of athletics Jack Swarbrick. "We will be playing in virtually every corner of the country and will have a strength of schedule that will serve us well in the new College Football Playoff format."
The schedules (home games in all caps):
2015
Sept. 5 TEXAS; Sept. 12 at Virginia; Sept. 19 GEORGIA TECH; Sept. 26 MASSACHUSETTS; Oct. 3 at Clemson; Oct. 10 NAVY; Oct. 17 USC; Oct. 31 at Temple (Lincoln Financial Services Field); Nov. 7 at Pittsburgh; Nov. 14 WAKE FOREST; Nov. 21 Boston College at Fenway Park, Boston, Mass. (night); Nov. 28 at Stanford

The Irish will play their annual Shamrock Series games in 2014 in Indianapolis (Lucas Oil Stadium) against Purdue, in 2015 in Boston (Fenway Park) against Boston College and in 2016 in San Antonio (Alamodome) against Army. All three of those games will be televised in prime time by NBC.

I heard it would be an ND home game much like the Yankee Stadium game which makes it good for us, but USA Today has it as us being home, so I guess we shall see.

Endless Mike {l Wrote}:How are they going to play now that Fenway has been turned into a sledding venue?
twballgame9 {l Wrote}:This game will only have relevance if the Red Sox can win another World Series this season, being as they haven't won since 2007

1. Tickets will be distributed to Athletics donors in descending order of donation based on the 2015 fiscal year gift (June 1, 2014 - May 31, 2015).
2. In addition to qualifying donors, a lottery will be established for all 2015 season ticket holders, allowing those purchasing or renewing their season tickets by May 31, 2015 an opportunity to win the right to purchase two (2) tickets.
3. No gifts or ticket orders taken after May 31 will be considered for BC-ND tickets. This is a hard deadline.
4. Order quantities are limited within the distribution system. Please refer to the grid online to determine the maximum number of seats you may be eligible to order.
5. Those interested in making new Flynn Fund commitments or increasing their current commitment before May 31 to qualify for seats should contact the Flynn Fund at 617-552-0772.
6. Orders are not guaranteed until confirmed by Boston College. We anticipate that we will be able to confirm orders in July.
7. The total cost of the ticket is $400. The $400 is comprised of the ticket price and a seat license, which will be recorded as a gift to the Flynn Fund and a portion will be tax deductible. The seat license is not intended to fulfill previous commitments or donor-based seating/parking requirements.
