Next game is SUNDAY, 12 noon, vs. loser of COC/Auburn. ESPN3
I was out all day today, so I missed the game.......but from what I have read and can guess, this was an example of the growing pains you will have with a team so young. Lack of effort on the defensive end sounds like a product of tired legs and still emotionally being down from playing toe to toe with a top 25 team for 36? of the 40 minutes yesterday. It happens to young/immature teams. As a BC fan, sure, i'm unhappy that they lost 2 in a row in Charleston......but team is still a work in progress. Finding out who they are as individuals and as a team. Who is going to be the defensive stopper? Who is going to be the go-to guy on offense (Anderson has clearly taken the reigns on this one). If come conference schedule time they are still giving up 80 PPG, then we have a problem. One clear improvement is on the offensive end. Last year, they had to will themselves to 50 points. This year, they are executing on the offensive end. Minus a few shooting slumps (particularly Lonnie Jackson), the offense has been great. Sounded like today was too many offensive rebounds to Dayton. That's something that should be able to be fixed with coaching. This team was not going to go from 50 PPG to NCAA bid in one year. It's baby steps. .500 will get them to the NIT. That's the realistic goal for this team.
