Does this Elite-75 Camp have any relevance to us? WIll the big local names be there on the UMass-Lowell Campus?

PC is going to continue to be a pain in our ass for New England recruits... that's for sure

The first day of Boston College Elite Camp was not short on talent last Saturday, with many of the regions top talent in attendance. Here is a look at the top 5 stock risers of the day.
Jeff Spellman - 6'2 PG/G 2014
Spellman was an attendee of last year's camp who attends neighboring school Beaver Country Day. This combo guard seems to have grown an inch since last year.
Spellman put on a show, scoring in transition around the basket and out to around 25 feet. He is very good scoring on pick and roll situations because of his high basketball IQ, similar to incoming freshman Olivier Hanlan. He also showed an array of spectacular dunks during intermissions and came in second place of the three point contest, nailing 22 in 2 minutes.
Spellman will have to improve strength and speed over the next two years to be able to compete physically with other guards in the ACC, but is being watched closely by the BC staff.
Jacquil Taylor - 6'8 C/F 2014
Taylor had the best day from any big man in the camp on Saturday. He was able to score from the post, knock down 15 footers, and contest shots on defense. The most impressive part of Taylor's game is his ability to run the floor. As soon as the ball went through the net on defense, he sprinted down the middle of the floor and beat his defender to the block gaining advantage on offense.
Taylor looks and plays much bigger then 6'8 because of his length and athleticism. While he showed a jump hook and a set shot from 15 feet, Taylor will need to add more to his scoring package around the basket and face up game.
Elijah Rogers - 5'11 PG 2014
Not often in camp settings do you find many players who want to share the ball more than score, but this just what Rogers did. Elijah was the best point guard prospect in camp because his passing skills and vision were far ahead of his peers. There were many times where his teammates didn't realize they were open and were caught off guard when he found them.
Elijah scored the ball in transition with ease using incredible speed and body control. While he did not shoot many three pointers, he proved he could by winning the camp's shooting contest, knocking down 24 / 29 in 2 minutes.
There are not many guards with Rogers' size who will be able to play in the ACC, but there are some exceptions to the rule. He possess the speed and athleticism to make up for a inch or two. If he doesn't grow he will need to really work in the weight room so that he is physically ready to defend opposing guards on this level.
Alec Brennan- 6'9 C/F 2014
There are a lot similarities between Brennan and current BC player Dennis Clifford. First, they were teammates at the same high school, Milton Academy and are still good friends today. Brennan, like Clifford, can score with his back to the basket as well as facing up his defender.
Brennan was the only big man to make one of the four spots in the finals of the 3 point shooting contest. He made 24 of 28 three pointers in the preliminary round leading to the finals.
At the same age, Alec is more skilled and more athletic than Clifford was at Milton Academy. Clifford however was able to learn how to play hard all the time and is now better than many of his peers who were ranked higher in high school. If Brennan learns to do the same and works hard in the weight room, he could end surpassing his peers like Clifford did.
Tremont Waters 5'7 PG 2017 (Rising 8th graders)
So why in the world would i be talking about a kid who still has another year of middle school left you ask? Well its simple--- Tremont wasn't just good for a little kid, he outplayed kids who were seniors in high school in convincing fashion. Along with Rogers, young Waters has incredible vision on the court. All spring Waters has played with the New England Playaz 16u (Sophomore) team and started at the lead guard position. Waters has the ability to shoot the ball from the NBA three point line off the dribble, which makes him a threat almost as soon as he crosses half court.
There are so many variables to talk about with a kid so young, so I won't talk about what he needs to improve on. At the end of the camp he had a very long conversation with head coach Steve Donahue about how to continue improving his basketball game.

That's fine. My only bitch has been a refusal to get an athletic forward that can rebound. Pretty happy otherwise.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — No matter who you ask about the top basketball players in America in the class of 2014, you are almost sure to hear the name Noah Vonleh in the answer.
A 6-foot-8, 220-pound combo forward out of the New Hampton School (NH), Vonleh is a major target of the Providence Friars—as well as many other schools.
“UConn, Providence, BC, Arizona, Indiana, and Ohio State are the schools that talked to me when they were allowed to text,” Vonleh said at NBPA Top 100 Camp.

Also there are rumors Vonleh might reclassify to '13, which would really hurt BC's scholarship situation.
