Endless Mike {l Wrote}:I was offered Dee Gordon for my Aramis Ramirez. I'm in a 5 x 5 roto league and I'm dead last in steals, so this will definitely help in that category. However, I worry that it will hurt in every other category, and although he's racking up steals Gordon is sucking up the joint in every other category and I have to wonder how patient the Dodgers are going to be. I do have Hanley Ramirez who can be moved to 3B and I also have Mike Aviles, plus Youkilis who should be coming back from the DL soon. Thoughts?

That's a lot of spots, period. That size roster is too much work.
claver2010 {l Wrote}:Was offered Tex & Felix for Pujols
Need P but Felix has struggled... not sure
Matthew Berry {l Wrote}:... That soon we are going to be talking about Felix Hernandez the same way we're currently talking about Tim Lincecum. In five of his last six starts, "The King" has allowed four-plus earned runs (6.37 ERA) while allowing opponents to hit .349 off of him. I discussed this on the Wednesday podcast with AJ Mass, but dude, his velocity is down. In 2009, his average fastball (94.0) was faster than any fastball he's thrown this season (93.9 max). His 91.3 mph average is 2.5 mph slower than he averaged in 2009-2011, and he hasn't touched 97 mph since 2010.
Wins will always be a challenge with Seattle. Felix is inducing fewer than 50 percent ground balls for the first time in his career (it's at 46.7 percent), and his HR/FB rate is a bit elevated. His overall numbers look OK, but are nothing special. If I could get 75 cents on the dollar for him, I'd do it. You could say that, rather than taking a leap of faith on him, I'm telling him to go take a flying leap.
bignick33 {l Wrote}:Trevor Bauer is probably a good speculative pick-up.
flyingelvii {l Wrote}:I've got a pretty comfortable lead in 2nd but I just realized that five of the first six pitchers I drafted are on the DL, all of which except for Halladay are out for the year or out a significant time so they're off my team (Beachy, J. Garcia, B. Wilson, S. Santos). Rotation currently hinges on the good performance of Lance Lynn, Tim Hudson, Tommy Hanson, Matt Garza and random SP off waiver wire. Just gotta hold on for a couple more weeks until Halladay comes back.

I'd probably flip Choo into Pena's spot and start Beltran, Gardner, and Joyce - nuts to your assumption.

I did go with Choo, Beltran and Joyce with Soriano though, over Pena. Eff Gardner, he blows.

Now be honest, did you stick with Soriano even though he didn't hit a dinger until halfway into May? You probably missed at least a couple of them. But yes, I was wrong about him. I still expect the average to drop as the summer goes along and his legs wear down.
Gardner has played like 8 games this year.

I did stick with Soriano, and he was killing me for a while. But with Gardner on the DL and Choo, Joyce and Beltran already in the lineup, I didn't have much choice. Might have gone one week with Chipper at UTIL, but Zimmerman was on the DL for a while. And I gave up on Pena early, as you predicted.

Sounds about right. I remember seeing Soriano's first home run on Sportscenter or Baseball Tonight. Thought about posting. Glad I didn't.
My two teams are night and day. I started hot and led all offensive categories and had strong K's, W's, ERA and WHIP in my roto league. Then Dan Haren happened, AGon never got going, and the DL absorbed a bunch of my steady role players. My H2H team is a frickin' steamroller despite my top 3 SPs after the draft being Halladay, Hudson, and Marcum. I've done really well with SP in free agency there.

I have Verlander, Grienke, Kennedy, Wilson, Hudson, Buerhle with Chapman, Cook and Motte in a 12 team league 5x5 HTH, so my team will never be worse than mediocre because I usually win 4 of the 5 pitching stats. Offense is another story, other than Y. Molina and B. Phillips and Beltran. It's a 3rd place team, always has been.
