I'd imagine we'd start to get some news and hopefully commitments here relatively soon since the summer recruiting season will open up here.

It'd be good to hear about a few 2013 recruits officially visiting. Hopefully Dingba and Johnson.

Urquhart must be blowing up in AAU ball; he was still playing JV this past season. Canadian -- St. George's is in Vancouver, BC. Video shows a skinny kid, big feet, big frame -- looks like he'll grow both up and out. Soft shooting touch, very good 3-point shooter, good handle enables him to penetrate. Definitely a prospect worth following -- could have a big upside.

RedBaron: thanks for keeping us updated on the recruits---your knowledge of them is excellent, which is why I would like to ask you what your prediction is about which ones most likely will sign with BC. Thanks, RB.

I'd think Dingba and BJ Johnson will compose our 2013 class. That'd be good work also by the staff.

Has anyone heard anything recent in terms of recruiting for BJ Johnson? I know he said he was considering BC earlier and the offers didn't roll in as I expected yet, but I haven't really heard him talk about BC yet....or anyone for that matter

Him and Dingba's recruiting have been extremely quiet.

According to the TOS, BC is in great shape with Cimino. He visited BC a couple of weeks ago, and he LOVED it.

He'll probably be a Top 100 kid in 2014. 6'10" that can shoot the 3 and go inside. Apparently he's having a great AAU Circuit. The Notre Dame offer is probably coming soon and as I recall Kansas State already offered.

Thank you; it's nice to know someone finds me helpful. As for predicting signings: I get my information on the players from a variety of websites, but I have no way of getting inside the heads of high school kids. I have my hopes, of course, but I'm in no position to make even a semi-reliable prediction.

Dingba and Johnson would be a very good class, and a substantial step up in recruiting by the staff. The problem there is in the numbers.

This is what I mean; Cimino would be a terrific get, but he's far from the only blue-chip prospect we have a shot at in 2014 (Joseph, Terrell, Abu, etc.). If we get Dingba and Johnson, we'll have only one scholarship slot left for 2014, unless someone transfers out, and at this point everyone left on the roster seems to be a happy camper. I don't know whether Donahue would "encourage" anyone to leave, but right now (and for a long time before, as we all know) the shortage of scholarships due to the 2015 pig-in-the-python is looming as a very serious problem.

Would you rather have Cimino or Dragevich? Because that's what it sort of comes down to.

Looking at the available information, I'd sooner take my chances with Cimino than with Dragicevich (although the latter might still surprise us in 2013-14). What upsets me is that we have so many excellent possibilities in 2014 and so little recruiting room. I know I want Dingba, but I'm not sure whether I prefer Johnson (who is unquestionably an excellent prospect) to having a second slot open for 2014 (which may be foolishly greedy, but there's a lot of blue-chip New England talent in 2014). Perhaps a transfer or two will solve the problem for me.

At least two players will be gone after next season. Book it.

A remarkably confident assertion which seems to suggest picking two from among Caudill, Heckmann, and Odio. This would do wonders to relieve the scholarship log jam; well, we shall see.

People need to set aside the players they'd like to see transfer (because they're not good) and the players that actually might transfer. Naming Odio & Caudill because they were the two worst is sort of pointless because they could be thrilled at BC and have no intention of it.

I don't really see any of the Cali kids transferring, could see Odio going to a Umass or Holy Cross just for playing time reasons. Seems like he loves Boston. If Heckmann doesn't pan out this year, then he could go as well...but I think he will be fine. Odio leaving would be pretty great though, especially if BC can lock up Dingba and Johnson this year so that they are still in it for Terrell and Malik-Abu next year.

I don't see Caudill transferring, not can we afford him to do so. Heckmann is a prime candidate. As is Odio - this time last year, epstein would have been telling you you are stuck with Moton.

It's entirely possible that Daniels, Jackson, Rahon or Hanlan transfer, too, depending on how the guard positions shake out.

If he can't play at BC, how could he play at UMASS. UMass is much better than BC!

look, Odio may never be a starter, but he was offered a scholarship and now he's an Eagle. it's not very classy to encourage him or anyone to leave, BC is better than that. for all you know these kids could be really hard workers and love the heights.

No one is encouraging anyone to leave. We're just trying to figure out the scholarship situation.

I mentioned possibilities for transfers based on what I thought were plausible reasons, since twballgame9 was so sure they were going to happen: lack of PT (Caudill and Odio) or homesickness (Heckmann). As I remarked earlier, the roster seems to be filled with happy campers at the moment. I don't see any reason for any of the guards to leave, since BC will be playing a 3-guard lineup much of the time. I certainly don't want anyone who's happy at BC to leave. The fact remains that we have only 3 scholarship slots for the next 2 years and that will restrict recruiting painfully.

Will some of the less highly recruited kids try to commit here sooner so that they don't have their spots taken by the more highly touted kids?

I know its a greedy question but still
