He had a great end of the season tournament and finished with 26 points 13 rebounds in the final game.

However, Alex Kline doesn't seem to be to optimistic about him in the ACC:

Re: Jerome Frink
To be honest, I believe he would be a great fit in the NEC, MAAC, or one of those type of conferences. He can make an impact from day one there. The ACC is a bit of a stretch to me.

Watched a few of his games on youtube, can't say I was very impressed with his finishing, but I don't know enough about him. His stats suggest that he improved towards the end of the year.

He looks like a high level athlete. Although true, if the kid played with Kyle Anderson and no-one wanted to recruit him at a high major level, I really have to question why on earth BC is interested. TOS seems to think we're involved also. St Anthony's is an elite basketball school FWIW.

His game film didn't really show much of his athleticism. What is definite is that he would provide solid 4 depth behind Anderson. He should be able rebound against all non-ACC opponents and maybe some ACC. He has nice post moves and a nice release, but just needs to work on his finishing. He's also a bit of a tweener at 6'7 because he still needs to build into his frame a bit.

What worries me about Frink is that I suspect his listed height is exaggerated. If BC is the ACC school offering him, we might be pursuing another Shamari Spears.

Penn State has been "interested" in Johnson for a while, so the offer isn't too surprising; the question is whether it signals a trend. If Johnson is really heating up, we should expect other "interested" schools (like Temple and Villanova) to take the plunge fairly soon. It would be nice to know how much the factor of proximity to home counts with Johnson, but high school kids have become more sophisticated about the recruiting game and hold their cards fairly close to the chest.

That's an interesting possibility, although it would greatly surprise me, considering the quality of NC State's 2012 class (3 McD. AAs). Still, one can never quite be sure what's going on in a coach's brain....

That does make sense; what they're mainly losing with Finney-Smith leaving is rebounds (7.0 rpg last season), and they may view Frink as a quick 11th-hour fix in that area.

@TheRecruitScoop Jerome Frink's father tells The Recruit Scoop that the 2012 St. Anthony (NJ) PF will decide between FIU & St. Bonaventure soon.

McManus seems to be an inside banger, concentrating on defense and rebounding; he's transferring in the fall from Bedford (NH) HS to Northfield Mount Hermon and (of course) reclassifying to 2015. He says he's looking for a college that combines academics and high-level basketball, so BC might have a shot at him. He's grown 2 inches in the last year, so he might grow 1-2 inches more.
Sistare (6'3" -- he might grow into a SF) is reported to be a good shooter and outstanding passer with (inevitably) a high basketball IQ. The obvious unanswered question is possible athletic limitations.

His high school tape looked promising. His college performance looked like a dazed and confused deer by the side of the road. That's why I'm not coaching BC basketball I guess.

Actually, Odio's HS video did look rather promising; what's really surprising was that the son of a coach was that clueless about the game. He might become a contributor yet if he can figure out what he's supposed to be doing on a basketball court.

I don't think Odio had no idea what he was doing. He was just so dang timid. He looked afraid a lot when he played. Hopefully he can contribute as a reserve this season if BC doesn't get Smyth (Dragicevich doesn't count since he has to sit out)

Considering in all likelihood we're not signing any other 2012 recruits, Smyth would be just fine because reasonably we're going to struggle to find 7 or 8 players who can contribute.

regardless of signing a 2012 recruit Smyth would be just fine because it would not impact 2012 scholarships.

My take is he's not so much clueless as the game is just too fast for him, for the game that he would potentially be good at if he were more skilled if that makes any sense.

@TheArenaPulse Josh Sharma will take an unofficial visit to Boston College tomorrow, per @RivalsNation.

I believe he's class of 2014 or 2015.

ESPN Scouting Report:
Strengths:
Sharma is long, mobile, and athletic with signs of being able to develop into a skilled face-up type big man. He moves with ease, covers a lot of ground quickly, and gets off his feet in a hurry. He can run and jump to score, put the ball down in the open court, and has some developing mid-range touch on his jump shot that could eventually stretch out to the arc.

Weaknesses:
For his undeniable talent he's still raw in every possible way. He needs to get stronger physically, more assertive in his approach on both ends of the floor, and a little nastier inside the paint. The foundation is there to be skilled eventually, but only if he's willing to put in the time to develop those skills on a daily basis.

Bottom Line:
He's an intriguing young talent with a ton of upside. He's just starting to scratch the surface of his potential and may not yet understand how good he could eventually be if he commits himself to it.
