Got it...

Postby eagle9903 on Fri Apr 13, 2012 8:20 am

You mouth breathers think its bad that Donahue showed interest in a ton of recruits and offered a lot of guys (24 offers^, 2 commits 22 "losses!"). I get it now. You remember the last few years of Skinner recruiting, where similarly stupid posters thought Al had stopped trying, when he only offered 5-10 guys a season. You think the 2009 (6 offers 0 commits, but only 6 "losses!") or 2010 (7 offers 3 commits, only 4 "losses!") recruiting cycles were normal (even though you probably complained about them at the time).

Look at Skinner years when only posters like OJ and eepstein hated Al, like 2002 (17 offers [we offered like 4 guys "in front of" Craig Smith], 3 commits 14 "losses!") or 2003 (17 offers[we offered 5 guys - 8 if you count Coleman, Everston and Marshall - before Dudley, 4 commits 13 "losses!"). I don't have any way of looking at Al's early classes like 1999 or 2000 to see how many offers and commits he had, but I'd bet that he had to offer more guys relative to commits prior to his first tournament run.

My point here, as always, is not pretending that I have some way of knowing this class will be good, but that it is laughably dishonest to pretend this is some sort of unprecedented dark low in BC basketball recruiting.

^Rivals database has been accepted as gospel fact by HJS so that's what I'm using.

This gets complicated, did they offer Tyler or Bradley first? Do they count as losses? Is Scoonie Penn a loss?

As I used to ask you when you posted as OJ... quote me where I made any such reference? Oh... wait... this is all a part of your subjective internal dialogue. Which voice is winning? Domino or OJ1969?

This OJ ridiculousness is a poor attempt and you are by no means a witty poster at your best. I simply don't like your constant insistence on bending facts to fit your campaign of inflated self importance, never have. No further agenda necessary.

I'm sorry you don't have inside information anymore and have to make other attempts to feel like your a better fan than everyone else though, that must be hard for you.

This was just PM'd to me by a poster from TOS.

Wow Cockboy, you even hate Jerry York when it suits the self importance campaign. Not enough Bosco players on the Hockey roster?

I for one applaud 9903's decision to celebrate his being wrong about hoop recruiting by going completely batshit crazy. Kudos

Look at the bright side, at least we have a coach who can diagram and execute an inbounds play.

I'm a Don fan, the recruiting has been just okay, but this is a class handling of a strange and awkward situation (most probably read it on ATL's site)

Few observations:

1) 9903 is right, it's way too early to make any definitive conclusions on the recruiting.
2) There is no way in hell 9903 is Eagledom/OJ/Domino. I am reasonably certain that 9903 has given Skinner some praise every now and then. OJ never did such a thing.
3) Not to be an HJS ballwasher but that link to his 2008 comment was nonsense. He posted that in the first period in the heat of the moment. We are all guilty of that.
4) I am going to some alumni event here in Philly at the end of the month and Coach Don is going to be taking questions. If anyone has anything specific to ask (legitimate and ridiculous questions are welcome), fire away.

I like/liked Al Skinner. A lot.

The 2008 link was me trying to be funny. Actually, I still think it was funny. I mean, I refired H20ld's cockboy taunt and made a PM from TOS reference, what else can you really ask in these boring days of message boardery.

Humphrey is on drugs if he thinks he's playing in the NBA.

So when Matt was out there with a back-court of Moton & Cahill with Caudill & Odio in the front-court, he was probably thinking exactly that.

Playing professionally doesnt necessarily mean the NBA. I agree though, hes nuts if he thinks hes making the NBA.
