Endless Mike {l Wrote}:Here are the guys I would consider keeping. Pick 4.
Mike Stanton, OF, $1 -- Flat out hitter!
Pablo Sandoval, 1B/3B, $4 --LOST 40 POUNDS --KEEPER!
Brian Matusz, SP, $1 -- ready to explode. Look at some of his starts, he was lights out!
Jonathan Sanchez, SP, $4 -- May build on WS success.

twballgame9 {l Wrote}:So my big question is which 2 of Joyce, Beltran, Gardner and Choo? Assume I intend to ride out a potential Soriano bounce back season for a while in the 3rd OF spot.

I'd probably flip Choo into Pena's spot and start Beltran, Gardner, and Joyce - nuts to your assumption.

My problem is that I am going to be hurting in power categories with Pena on the bench. Even if he has a bad year, he will go 25/85 hitting behind Longoria. And if he bounces back and returns to former TB levels, he could have a monster year.
Same goes for Soriano, bare minimum he is going to give me .280, 20 hr, 80 rbi and 20 sbs. I will probably start Beltran. That leaves me Choo or Joyce; I am leaning Choo.
Gardner is going to bat ninth and does nothing other than steal. I could use his steals but not at the expense of the other 4 categories. I could replace those steals with Soriano and Choo.
twballgame9 {l Wrote}:Oh and Gardner didn't score a lot of runs last year. Unless you are dying for his 40 steals, he is a complete waste of space. Might trade him to one of the idiot Yankee fans
And Choo had 22 SBs in the two seasons prior to last. You are correct about Soriano's running, but I bet he squeaks out double digits if he stays healthy. Choo will go 20/20
