6-6 is the new 10-2. That's how bad things have gotten.

2-10 is an absolute possibility. This team has absolutely zero coaching.

So, just to be clear, you think we're going to be better at LB this coming year than we were last year?

We'll be worse at DB as well (if that's possible) simply due to losing Fletcher and having no replacement because we've virtually neglected the position in recruiting for the last several years....DT will also be worse due to losing O'Neal and Rudolph. Every position on D will be worse with the possible exception of DE (which hasn't really lost anyone).

Damnit, ESPN3 is televising 5 ACC spring games, and for some reason they didn't pick ours!

With Noel back at S and ALJ with a year under his belt I don't think we will be worse. I also think our starting DTs will be better Ramsey back and Appiah a year older.

Its the stunning lack of depth of any kind at DB and DL that are so worrisome. We saw it last year at DB so that's nothing new, but the prospects of having 265lb DTs is scary. Maybe the walk-on kicker can bulk up over the summer....

Maybe not linebacker (or punter), but those are the only positions where they wont be better.

@ 4-8, given what happened in the games the team was much closer to 6-6 last year than it was to 3-9. They are not going 2-10 in 2012. They will go 6-6.

I don't think 6-6 is a ridiculous prediction, but if we're basing this on past experience and recognizing that this team has less talent and less depth than we did last year... i'd cap our wins at 4 or 5.

Probably assumed all of our games would be on this season, wasn't worth the trip

Any idea on attendance? It's going to be cold so I'll say about the amt that show up to basketball games

I'm thinking 300-400. Like you said, it'll be cold. They canceled the Family FunFest thing. It's getting very little promotion, which is especially bad considering this year the game is three weeks earlier than it usually is. There are BC fans out there who won't realize they missed the spring game until they read about it in the Sunday Globe the next day. The students never go. And, above all, Coach Flip's suckitude has turned off a lot of people.

The baseball team has a game at 1:30, that might be the only thing that helps attendance.

I'd rather count the losses than wins, makes it easier.

VPI, @ FSU, @ Georgia Tech, Clemson (Tigers might be good enough in 2012 for a MNC run.)

Four losses right off the bat. Okay, could go either way?

@ Northwestern, Notre Dame, @ NC State, @ Wake Forest, @ Army

I think Miami is going to suck, as will Maryland. If BC gets 3 of the games that could go either way (why not? they got 3 either-way-games last year), then 6-6 is pretty much where they are going to wind up. The wildcard here is Martin. He needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat with 10 returning starters on offense. We know McGovern will have the defense there.

The defense was pretty piss-poor last year with the best player in college football. How is is going to get better without Kuechly?

The defense was NOT piss-poor. The defense was why they beat Miami and NCState. The defense was why they almost beat Notre Dame. The defense was almost able to get this team Bowl eligible all on their own. Worst game the defense had was FSU. Even the VPI and Central Florida games, BC was in the game for the majority of those games specifically because the defense was NOT piss-poor (they just ran out of steam.)

The offense was piss-poor.

I actually think this team has enough talent that we'll win somewhere between 5-7 games (a real coach would win 9-10). After this season, the bottom will fall out.

So the bubble was still up last night. Will they take it down, or do they expect such low attendance that all the fans will line the edge of the bubble and not make it all the way around?

They're going to put down traffic cones and play the short length of the field like we did in high school gym class. Alumni can relive the thrill of Commencement Day and sit in folding chairs on the astroturf while taking in the game.

article about pumping up interest in spring game.I really think they'd keep this closed if they could they know how unsettled the team is after a poor season. It doesn't take a college FB expert to recognize that having walkon kickers and QBs futilely chasing receivers and runners isn't confirmation that BC has an offensive point scoring machine
