The first rule of Spring Practice is: you do not talk about Spring Practice. The second rule of Spring Practice is: you DO NOT talk about Spring Practice! [Spaz turns around and knocks out Doug Martin]

I don't know this for sure, but one person on the team kept tweeting about what a great week off he had.

Have we reached an EO consensus on discussing players' tweets? Did we agree not to go there?

The AD is actually make an effort to reach out. They have invited Flynn donors to attend practice and are now hosting a breakfast at the BC Club on 4/13 with "featured" guests McGovern, Martin & Bollman. There will be a raffle; the winner gets to slug Martin.

:whammy

Why not just let a different Flynn Fund donor step in as OC each game?

Not sure i agree with it, but there was an article that Alabama did the same thing this year. Couple practices then a week off for spring break.

I guess I can see this as a good thing because, if done correctly, it can workout as another week of practice - but this is unlikely under :spaz2

It actually could be quite good from a rest/recovery standpoint. you could increase the intensity of practices leading into the offweek, rest for a week, repeat. this situation if used effectively could be very beneficial from a training standpoint.

p and s. i always thought the NCAA mandated a maximum number of days between the start and end of practices to prevent stuff like this from happening but perhaps they have relaxed the rules?

Is this an indication that we are now trying to be Alabama Monday-Friday and Harvard on Saturday?

Hard to believe we're 2.5 weeks away from the Spring Game, wtf?

3/17 scrimmage

Postby DomingoOrtiz on Sat Mar 17, 2012 3:58 pm

March 17, 2012

Boston College football hosted its first of three intrasquad scrimmages of the 2012 spring season at noontime today inside the Alumni Stadium bubble. Here are a few notes from the afternoon's scrimmage:

• Sophomore wide receiver Spiffy Evans caught two touchdown passes on the afternoon - one from sophomore quarterback Josh Bordner and one from junior quarterback Chase Rettig. Both touchdown receptions were of approximately 20 yards or more.

• Sophomore quarterback Chase Rettig, the team's starting QB in all 11 games last fall, also connected with 6-foot-6, 255-pound senior tight end Chris Pantale and junior wide receiver Alex Amidon on 20-yard touchdown passes down the seam during the afternoon's two-hour scrimmage.

• Sophomore running back Tahj Kimble turned in a nifty 20-yard touchdown run while junior running back Andre Williams had a 25-yard touchdown burst to highlight the team's offensive output.

• Brian Miller, a redshirt freshman tight end from Andover, Mass., listed on the spring depth chart at receiver, drew praise when prompted about the position adjustment from head coach Frank Spaziani following the scrimmage

"Brian [Miller]'s got some athletic skills," Spaziani said. "This is the first time he's really scrimmaged since he has had a horrific knee injury. For him to get through this is a big step. We're excited about it."

• Multiple football alums were in attendance at the scrimmage, including Rich Gunnell, Luke Kuechly, Ifeanyi Momah, Ryan Quigley and Mark Spinney.

• BC will also scrimmage on Saturday, March 24 before hosting its annual spring game on Saturday, March 31 at 1 p.m.
