If he is slower than the other RBs we have from 2011 and 2012, then I agree with him.

BTW... how is JPO out of play for us??? That makes no effing sense when he is actively still looking at Cuse and UConn. I guess both programs are beyond us at this point.

Tuned in just in time to see him take a break in talking to pick something out of his teeth, did I miss anything??

Our head football coach can't even be bothered to wear anything with a BC logo on it for his signing day press conference. Unreal.

By my count after the 2012 season we will have the following breakdown of scholarships by position:

QB: 3 (and one is Bordner)
RB: 3 (wow)
WR: 7 (includes a lot of no other offers guys)
TE: 5
OL: 16

DE: 5
DT: 5 (minus both starters)
LB: 10
CB: 7
S: 4 (this is a very rough group, after Noel leaves)

K: 2
LS: 1

That means at least 18 scholarships open for next year (I may have screwed up the math) plus attrition, plus 5th year guys not asked back if any.

Spaz starts the presser by talking about BC's success at developing 2-star players.

Said... we have enough RBs in the program and would only take an elite one.

DLinemen are always a priority... we took a bunch last year... but at every program in the nation, you can never have enough DLinemen.

The record wasn't a problem in recruiting. Kinda alluded to there being other problems... but not 4-8.

We always keep a couple of extra spots open for walk-ons, transfers and wiggle room.

Optimistic that Daniels will qualify.

Simmons will be a WR.

BC has to work on the total person. Need to have certain qualifications for academics and character. We view it as a plus... but we have to comply with it.

Talent pool in Mass is subjective. He said that there is a lot of difference of opinion and surprise at who signed where. Main focus is the 16 we signed.

Staff doesn't have the same take on when a kid is committed (as opposed to the soft standard media and fans use). They recruit HARD until they sign.

Win is a great player but is also an artist????? WTF is this guy talking about. The biggest part about recruiting Homer was that he is a Red Sox fan.

Recruiting is subjective and studies show that programs with top "stars" have zero correlation to on-field success.

Don't expect any surprise adds to this class.

Emphasis is on the staff's ability to evaluate and how they will fit into the program... as people and players.

It's not about getting 5-star players and winning National Championships... it's about coaching those players.

Fans SHOULD be excited about stars like they get excited about preseason polls. Fans should really be excited about the 3 classes he has brought in (trying to water-down the crappiness of this class with the better previous classes).

Presser audio was terrible as you can't hear the questions.

He may have been making a reference to the famous American artist Winslow Homer? Each time we think they have set the bar as low as humanly possible, they seem to find a notch lower to go.
Letting Mike Milbury quit as coach just destroyed BC Hockey forever. BC should just put hockey out of its misery nobody is ever going to topple BU rather than bother with another washed up alum.-TWBALLGAME9 (Letter to Eagleaction Magazine June 1994)

That's a stretch. There has been nothing that says Hood doesn't favor BC in any article.

There is a likelihood he stays out West. You are the first poster to suggest shock if he decommits.

Nonetheless... even if he does hold true... name the 5 kids we still have a shot with.

The only reason why you think he's going west is because Lynch decommited and Grant probably will too.

The reason why I think he's going to stay out West is that he is an Arizona kid who is STILL taking official recruiting trips to schools in the PAC12!!! That doesn't sound like someone who is committed to the only school who offered him by the time he made his decision.

I really don't get making Simmons a WR. He's prob the only legit defensive back recruit in this class. I was thinking if anything, Harrison Jackson might get switched to DB.

I for one, am relieved the 2012 recruiting class is over. As we all know, it was just awful to watch it unfold. We need BC to get in contact with every decent kid in the region. We then need to hope that the one or two BC assistants who really have success with those kids are the one or two guys that are retained. Lastly, we need to hope that they are retained by a new coach (found by a real process and hired because he actually was the best candidate) who was able to pick his own staff and was able to decide which coach or two were invited back.

Commented about recruiting be subjective... that they'll look at it all tomorrow and will be real surprised at where some kids landed as they have wildly different opinions as to their talent-level. Said the recruiting depth in Mass changes from year-to-year.

Wow AWFUL. The EA article said it was the first time in like 5 years that BC has not gotten one of the top 3 kids in Mass. Must have been a loaded year in Mass huh Spaz
