Boston College and Rutgers are among the schools that intrigue ESPNU 150 Watch List offensive tackle Brad Henson Jr. (Surf City, N.J./Monsignor Donovan).
Henson, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound junior, recently added a scholarship offer from East Carolina. His other offers are from Boston College, Central Florida, East Carolina and Rutgers. Boston College was the first school to extend an offer.
“I like BC a lot,” Henson said. “The BC coaches have been looking at me since I was a freshman. Good academics, and I like [BC offensive line coach] Sean Devine. It might be a good fit for me.
“Rutgers is my home-state school. I don't know if I want to go too far from home yet.”
Henson said Connecticut, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Purdue, Wake Forest and Wisconsin are among the other schools that have shown interest.
“Florida is coming to my school this month, so if I had to guess I'd say they'll be the next school to offer,” he said.
Although he has played some defensive tackle, Henson said he's being recruited strictly as an offensive lineman.
“Most schools like me at guard or tackle,” he said. “West Virginia said they like me at center also. I'm most comfortable at guard. I've played there the longest.
“I really don't have any idea where I want to go yet,” Henson said. “I'm gonna look around, take visits and see what fits me best.”
