I apologize for being presumptuous, but could you answer me one question? What are your thoughts on Rutgers joining the ACC?

You ought to give up on EA and post here instead. It's more fun.
Ugh. Courting celebrities? I used to like this place... before it was cool.

EA is connected to the city sewer system. Any hate there gets sent in the big pipe to Deer Island where it gets treated, and then children swim in it at Nantasket Beach.

They still have the boardwalk at Nantasket Beach?

Yes. And it's cleaner than it used to be.
There has never been a boardwalk at Nantasket Beach.

Damn it, Campion is right. There is a concrete ledge that serves the purpose of a boardwalk with bars, restaurants, mini golf, carousel, etc across the street. It serves the practical purpose of a boardwalk, and it is still there.

I've been there for reasons not clear to me now. Many flabby pasty Marsh vegas skanks.

They are Southie skanks, pardon me. A Marshfield skank is usually a slightly more affluent descendant of a Southie skank, and they have their own beaches.
And it isn't a "concrete ledge." There is a sea wall designed to keep the north Atlantic in line.

Nothing wrong with what you posted if that is how you feel. I think that is the whole idea of a message board... a place to transcribe your raw opinion. That said... you should be prepared for the same unvarnished responses... upon which is something this board (and it's previous incarnation as EagleInsider) has always prided itself.
As I mentioned to fake Nick Rossi, if there is anyone who supports giving this staff another year, I would welcome the rationale.

HJS wrote:DuchesneEast wrote:Its a valid point and one that should be brought up. You can complain because you donate. You have a vested financial stake in the program. Many of us will not donate again until Spazerelli is gone. I gave more in Jags's 2 years then the 5 years before that, but even then the schools sees our money through ticket sales and every game costs me a small fortune on concessions, new crap at the bookstore etc.
I didn't mean to suggest that you CAN'T complain if you don't donate. That is akin to tomcat (who stupidly supported Spaz so much that he was predicting an 11-win season) saying that you had to play football at BC to be able to comment about BC football on a message board.
What I am suggesting is that someone who does not support the program has no standing to complain about the manner in which I support the program. Look... I'm a hypocrite. I still bought a seat and donated to the Flynn Fund this year. While I dropped 5 season tix and cut my donation by 90%, I still gave and bought a seat (though I gave a buddy who still attends games the tix and the accompanying parking pass). I won't go to another game so long as Spaz is there. But, I don't mind donating a token amount because (a) I still support the student-athletes and (b) I feel it gives me a seat at the table from which to gripe.
Herzy is a fan of Spaz and Gene. They are the guys who looked after his son for 5 years (2 of which were very difficult). That's fine... that's the bias he brings to the table. In comparison, I'm a fan of Boston College... the institution. As such, I am also a fan of the students who will soon join my ranks as fellow alums. Who I owe no allegence to are the hired guns who are paid MILLIONS to head-up BC's athletic teams. When these transient professionals are woefully under-performing, I feel it is every alum's OBLIGATION to object... as our future fellow alumni simply deserve better. And, our university has better ways in which to expend its resources.
Simply... Gene DeFilippo and Frank Spaziani are not Boston College. They are simply well-paid proxy-holders who are acting on our behalf. Their continued representation is always at our whim.

Wasn't Spaz the coach who recruited one of the best running backs in the ACC, and recruited also an utterly fantastic line backer who might be the best in the country. I am looking forward to seeing how well he can do when he has all his horses next year.

UMMMMMMMMMMMM, didnt Jags get Montel to commit and Luke was recruited under Jags, I just dont remember if he committed or confirmed under Spaz (not that tough considering Spaz was the DC anyway)

ATLeagle wrote:Is there anyone on EA still defending Spaz and this mess of a season?

HJS wrote:According to JConman, there are a few like bcrulz, Legrand and a couple other (I think he mentioned someone like mcrimmins). For them, this is all Jags' fault and Spaz is an innocent victim who he needs more time to show what he can do. Personally, I think they are all Worst Generation types who have immense sympathy for a fellow member who similarly failed upward and despise the rest of us expecting some sort of results.
That said, apparently something like 90% of the board is in the Fire Spaz camp. But about 95% are in the Fire Gene camp (some of those who want to give Spaz more time blame GDF for Spaz's failure). Basically, Gene and Spaz are the great unifiers of the BC fandom.

eagle9903 wrote:One thing that I guarantee will happen, is if Spaz is not fired after a 2-11ish season, that board will forget how bad the season was by roughly February and there will again be sycophants praising the brilliance of the cushion and cursing the name of the spread in favor of "three yards and a cloud of dust."

long after the passage of their expiration dates. Chlebeck is the only case I can recall where an inept coach was quickly shown the door.
