Just interviewed Cochran. Good kid was a fun interview. Very complimentary of BC and of UCONN's new staff. Academics will be HUGE. Looking at Ivy league schools too. It should be up at some point today I'll put the link up when it is.

I know this has been mentioned bu I think Cochran's dad has a reputation as an ass in CT high school football (for whatever that's worth).

He is a ESPNU 150 Watchlist prospect. He will be on the Rivals watchlist as well. He's a 3 star on Scout ATM. They only have 7 4 stars at QB right now so he could be anywhere from 8-41. I'd say he is a top 15 or so QB. For BC he is #1. Obviously Zeke Pike is probably higher but BC knows they have no chance so no point. I'd say Cochran,Bilal Marshall, and Wes Lunt are the best chances for BC from the offer list.

Edit: Talked to the head ranking guy at TR said he thinks he is around 35 right now. Height(which is an issue) and arm strength hurt him in the rankings. Now for me I can deal with a guy that doesn't have a great arm if he is very accurate. This kid has pinpoint accuracy. Can make all the throws. He did agree that he is a perfect fit for BC though.

If height is an issue, that would be very surprising. I assumed he was a legit 6-2 at least (regardless of current measurements). Spaz has recruited very tall QBs so far almost exclusively.

Camren Williams updates that doesn't mention BC at all. He also doesn't list an offer from us, so I wonder if there are lingering bad feelings from his brother's recruitment or something.

Junior Massachusetts athlete Camren Williams has visited a few schools over the last several weeks and the trips have been productive.

Williams has been to Wake Forest, UConn and Rutgers recently.

Each school rolled out the red carpet for Williams and some other juniors that visited. It seems as though each made a convincing case.

"I just recently visited Wake Forest," Williams began. "It was for a Junior Day. They only invited their top ten prospects that they're looking at, so it was a big deal. It went really well.

"We went to the Duke basketball game while we were there and it was really cool. They took us around the whole campus and the football facility. They let us see the whole stadium. They just had some renovations in '09 and it was really nice. I got a really good look at Wake Forest. We were there probably four or five hours."

His trip to UConn was also very positive.

"I met with coach (Paul) Pasqualoni and it seems like they've honored my offer," he said, referring to the verbal offer the Huskies had extended while Randy Edsall was still head coach at UConn. "I still have an offer from UConn.

"I talked to coach Perkins, the defensive backs coach, and coach Foley, the offensive line coach who recruits my area. It was really good.

"Rutgers (Junior Day) went really well also. We met with coach (Greg) Schiano after the whole visit and we talked with him. He said he wants to see film and they seem really interested. We were there almost eight hours so we got a really good look at the whole school, from the training rooms and weight rooms to everything else."

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound athlete from West Roxbury (Mass.) Catholic Memorial said he is planning on visiting a few schools in the near future but does not have any set dates in mind.

after reading your two interviews it sounds like
a) Taylor Wrice will be an Eagle as soon as he gets an offer and
b) Cochran will be an Eagle as long as he gets no other offers he considers "better" (like Stewart and Florida)

@Nick Cochran's highlights say he is 6'1 ive heard 6'0. Height is an issue but in college you can get away with it.

@Australian Taylor I think is an Eagle if offered but I think he will have some fun. It'll be a case where you know where he is going but he will take his time. On Casey UCONN is a threat and so are IVYs IMO

Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood Catholic junior tight end Colin Thompson is quickly becoming one of the region's most sought after recruits from the Class of 2012.

Thompson's offer list is growing and he's starting to plan more visits.

"I'm heading to Notre Dame at the end of the month for their junior day," Thompson explained. "I'm looking forward to that. I'm trying to learn a little more about them. Coach (Charley) Molnar came down to visit our school and now four of us are going to visit."

Frank Taylor and Desmon Peoples are among the other prospects from Archbishop Wood that will be visiting Notre Dame at the end of February.

Not long ago Thompson visited Florida. That trip went very well.

"First off it's warm and that's great," he laughed. "I met coach (Charlie) Weis and coach Urban Meyer, who's an adviser there. Coach (Will) Muschamp and those guys are a great coaching staff. I enjoyed my trip there."

South Carolina, Wisconsin and Cincinnati recently joined BC, Rutgers and Pitt as schools that have verbally offered Thompson.

"I think Michigan State and Florida will be offering soon," the 6-foot-5, 255-pound tight end added.

Freehold (N.J.) Freehold Borough junior linebacker Jazzmar Clax has received a verbal offer from Rutgers and it's a safe bet that he will be ranked among the top prospects at his position in New Jersey's Class of 2012.

The 6-foot, 225-pound linebacker is already starting to put together an early list of favorites.

"My favorites are Rutgers, Miami, Georgia, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Central Florida, Boston College, and last but not least, Stanford," Clax said.

Rutgers has already offered, as mentioned earlier, and Clax recently visited the school.

"Rutgers was a positive trip," he said. "I know a lot about Rutgers because of my background. I have several friends that committed there from the Class of 2011. I get a feel from them about what it's like (at Rutgers). I've talked to coach (Greg) Schiano and the linebackers coach. I'm in tune with the system and what they run. It seems like a great fit."

Clax said he, his coach and his parents will soon decide which other schools they would like to visit.

Miami, Georgia and UConn have invited Clax to their junior days but he isn't sure he will be able to get out to all of those places.

Anyone want to summarize what the Davon Jacobs article says? I know he had previously favored Rutgers and UConn (it seems like he wants to stay close to home) and it seems like we might be in a good position with him (I also think he goes to Shakim Phillips' HS). My other question is what position are we recruiting him for, safety or something else?

Monday was a big day for linebacker/defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville).

"Michigan State, Boston College and Michigan all offered (Monday)," Odenigbo said. "[Centerville coach Ron Ullery] told me I got offered by Boston College and Michigan State. I was shocked. Then I got a text from coach Ullery after school. It said Michigan had offered."

While Odenigbo was surprised by the flurry of offers, they were certainly not his first. In fact Odenigbo has 10 offers and his list includes Stanford, Cincinnati, Indiana, West Virginia and Syracuse.

The 6-foot-4 and 215-pounder played defensive end in Centerville's 4-3 defense during his junior season and made 40 tackles, as well as 10.5 sacks.

"Schools that play a 3-4 defense talk about me playing linebacker and the ones that play a 4-3 talk about defensive end," Odenigbo said.

Other schools showing interest include Ohio State and Notre Dame. Odenigbo plans to attend a junior day the weekend of Feb. 26 at one of the two or both if one is on Feb. 26 and one on the next day.

Odenigbo also plans to make it to East Lansing.

"I'll likely go to Michigan and Michigan State for unofficial visits," Odenigbo said. "After I found out about the Michigan State offer I talked to coach [Harlan] Barnett and coach [Mark] Dantonio on the phone."

When asked to name his favorite, Odenigbo said, "I really don't have a dream school. I'm looking at anyone who has a good school academically. The only school I've visited so far for a junior day is Cincinnati."

Now that the page has nearly been turned on the Class of 2011 recruits, it's a good time to look ahead at the Class of 2012. Here are some of the top players from New York and New Jersey who will be seniors next season, all of whom are on the ESPNU 150 Watch List.

Ryan Brodie, OT (Long Branch N.J./Long Branch)
Brodie has received verbal offers from Rutgers, North Carolina and N.C. State.

Leonte Carroo, WR (Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco)
Caught 44 passes for 1,055 yard last season, when Don Bosco won its fifth consecutive state championship.

Nigel Jones, RB (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit)
Showed versatility by playing defensive back for the first time in last year's championship game against St. Joe's (Montvale). Made an interception and had two tackles behind the line of scrimmage in Holy Spirit's 14-13 victory.

Quanzell Lambert, LB (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek)
One of the top linebackers in New Jersey last season, and has attracted 13 verbal offers.

Kaiwan Lewis, LB (Hammonton, N.J./St. Joseph)
Picked up a verbal offer from LSU last month. Boston College, Connecticut and Rutgers are among the other schools that have offered.

Wayne Morgan, DB (Brooklyn, N.Y./Erasmus Hall)
May be the top prospect in New York City next season. He has verbal offers from Connecticut, Maryland, Miami (Fla.), Penn State and Rutgers.

Ruhann Peele, WR (Linden, N.J./Linden)
Rutgers was the first school to extend a verbal offer to Peele, who has been a starter since his freshman season. Has said he wants to commit to a school as soon as possible.

Davion Samuels, OT (Wayne, N.J./DePaul Catholic)
Connecticut is among the schools that have shown significant interest in Samuels, who is 6-foot-5 and weighs 275 pounds.

Elijah Shumate, DB (Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco)
Picked up recent offers from South Carolina and Notre Dame. Has said that South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Rutgers and LSU are currently in his top five.

Boston College, as well as Florida, Ohio State, Miami, and Florida State, all offered Miami (Fla.) Columbus defensive back Deon Bush today. Bush is a stud, real long and could contribute as a corner or safety, but more than likely a safety.

I wish Rivals would expound on his length.

Do you know if we have already sent out more offers out at this time than we did last year? Seems like we have but I don't really have a clue. Especially with a short class next year, i don't want to see a bunch of flyers again and have to watch hjs post a ton of pages bitching about recruiting.

I just came on to ask the same question. We offered 104 for the class of 2011 and have already offered 45 for the class of 2012. Maybe we have finally expanded our target list a little?

BC likes LaSpada at S not QB. He's probably an offer guy but not anytime soon I think.

On the offers I'd say it's around the say I'd have to go back and try to find a set number I know i posted it somewhere but there pretty close.

Here's a look at some of the top recruits from New England in the Class of 2012. Each of the following players is on the ESPNU 150 Watch List:

Casey Cochran, QB (Monroe, Conn./Masuk)
Cochran picked up a verbal offer from Boston College before his junior season. He took an unofficial visit to Connecticut last month, and also attended a junior day at Rutgers earlier this year. He completed 200 of 295 pass attempts for 3,345 yards and 40 touchdowns last season.

Nick LaSpada, QB (Billerica, Mass./Billerica)
He suffered a torn ACL and MCL in the final game of his sophomore season, but passed for 2,738 yards and 25 touchdowns last season. Also ran for 1,064 yards and 15 touchdowns. Boston College, Notre Dame, Oregon, Missouri and Arkansas are among the schools that have shown interest.

Armani Reeves, ATH (West Roxbury, Mass./Catholic Memorial)
He gained 1,279 all-purpose yards and scored 16 touchdowns last season. Has received verbal offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Missouri, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Penn State and Massachusetts. Reeves is scheduled to take unofficial visits to North Carolina and Maryland next week.

Canaan Severin, ATH (Marlboro, Mass./Worcester Academy)
Severin, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound wide receiver, has received verbal offers from Boston College and North Carolina State. He repeated his sophomore year at Worcester Academy after he transferred from Marlboro High School.

Camren Williams, ATH (Easton, Mass./Catholic Memorial)
Williams missed five games last season while recovering from knee surgery. He has received verbal offers from Connecticut, Missouri, North Carolina, Penn State and Massachusetts. His father, Brent, played for three teams during an 11-year NFL career. Williams will visit North Carolina and Maryland next week with his teammate, Armani Reeves.

Somerset (N.J.) Franklin running back Kye Morgan is a prospect to keep an eye on.

The Class of 2012 prospect has already picked up verbal offers from Boston College and Rutgers.

"Rutgers (offered) before Christmas and Boston College was just like two days ago," Morgan said. "I had been talking to them for a while but it's still surprising."

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound running back from Franklin is taking a proactive approach to the recruiting process.

"I've visited Rutgers and I was supposed to visit Boston College a couple of weeks ago but the weather was bad. It was snowing," he recalled. "I'm supposed to be going to Boston College in a few weeks now.

"Rutgers was nice. I liked Rutgers. I liked the coaches and the facilities."

Though he is listed as a running back, Morgan said the Scarlet Knights and Eagles are recruiting him as an athlete with the potential to play on either side of the ball.

In addition to those two schools, Morgan has been hearing from UConn, Georgia and Virginia.

"I like all of them," he said, denying that he has any favorites.
