I think that today is effectively a play-in game for BC. The RPI is currently at 41, which puts them on the right side of the bubble, but some of the other numbers (such as top 50 wins and overall win total) are terrible. A win today would bump the RPI well into the 30s, plus BC would have two top-20 neutral site wins right before the NCAA Tourney. Those two factors will be tough for the committee to ignore.
I will say that I kind of like BC's chances today. They certainly have more to play for than FSU. Over the last couple of years, they've played well with their backs against the wall. FSU pitches John Gast today, who frankly kind of sucks (6+ ERA). BC tosses John Leonard, who has been up and down over the last couple of years. What I like about Leonard is that he pitched his best at the end of last year. If he can command his high-end fastball, BC will be in good shape. FSU can mash, so he has to avoid walking guys, or else BC will pay.
The resident Mexican already mentioned the ACC Championship possibility. If BC does indeed beat FSU today, it'll be fun to watch the UVA-Miami game, which happens after the BC game. Incidentally, no team in BC's round-robin controls their destiny right now.
