For a young (well we've been the youngest in the NCAA the past 2 years and will be this year, I mean experience-wise) team, they are getting some type of test.

The Ice Breaker has a good field as does the GLI, vs. Denver, then @ Yale. Impressive.

This is true. I just noticed @ Yale over Thanksgiving. That a game I'd love to take in; Yale's arena is apparently very architecturally unique. But, I'll be in Miami hitting on :skank at the beach and watching :screamyeagle football.

I'll be at Yale (the Yale Whale) pretty cool place to watch a game with the entire Claver2010 clan, easy 40 minute drive from home.

Loving the strength of the non-conference sched. Figures to be more TUC in there than this year.

North Dakota / Michigan State / Air Force
North Dakota / Michigan State / Air Force
Michigan
Michigan State / Michigan Tech
at Yale

That sure beats at Denver, at Denver, at Notre Dame, Colgate and Mercyhurst.

Also like ending the season with 2 at home against UVM instead of the home-and-home with UNH we've had the last two seasons.

Joe Pearce was the MVP of hitting on a HS senior who was in town visiting BC at Roggie's the night of the '08 championship game (I went to work on the HS girl's smokeshow mom).

No real story beyond what I already posted, the girl and mom (they were from the Chicago area I think) were sitting at the bar and I was talking to the mom for a while before sitting back down at our table when the game started, looked up towards the end of the first period and Pearce was going to work on the HS girl. Pretty much a non-starter since you gotta think a HS girl isn't going to go home with some guy from the bar with her mom there and vice versa. They left (alone) midway through the 2nd period....but that girl would have just finished her junior year at BC now, so there's still time I guess. Fire the tailgate up!!

Maybe learning from your inability to pull off the menage a trois by starting with the elder, he felt the righteous path would best be approached by beginning with the girl. :shrug

Dude--this was over 3+ years ago, I'd already been drinking for several hours, and as I said earlier I was focused more on the mom than the future Eagle. She was from Chicago, I think she was blonde, she had a smokeshow mom, and she watched the '08 NC game at Roggie's with said smokeshow mom but the two of them left midway through the 2nd period....that's about all I can give you. I never even caught the name of the indianed cougar I banged in Montreal this past New Years, let alone some girl whose mom I hit on for 10 minutes 3 years ago.

Put UNH games in.

Sucks we're not playing them at the end of the season again. We have an oddball game on Sunday night up there, either it's a misprint or it's for TV.

Looks like our 1st half is going to be brutal with a cushy landing coming down the stretch -early tests for a young team.

It does suck that we can't finish against them. This schedule is very front heavy...wish the tough games were more evenly dispersed. They'll win a ton of games down the stretch and the same "Jerry's getting them ready when it matters" meme will show up - but it will be significantly different than most years. Either way, no one should get too discouraged if they struggle a bit early. Hopefully it pays off.

Talk of moving the 1/7 game vs. UNH to 1/27 weekend with the doubleheader at Fenway still a possibility the weekend of 1/7: UNH vs. Maine & UVM vs. UMass.

I'd like this as it sucks to have a marquee home game while students are on break.

Not BC related but, schedule related confirming Frozen Fenway 2.0

Vermont-Massachusetts, New Hampshire-Maine to highlight Frozen Fenway sequel
By Jim Connelly • Senior Writer • Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Outdoor hockey games have been the “flavor of the week” for the last few years in college hockey, and that won’t keep Hockey East from once again joining the fray.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Hockey East will announce on Friday that it will host Frozen Fenway, a sequel to a remarkably successful event the league hosted in January 2010 at Boston’s historic Fenway Park.

This season’s event, which will take place on Saturday, Jan. 7, will pit state schools against one another, with Vermont facing off against Massachusetts in the early game and New Hampshire squaring off against Maine in the nightcap. UMass and Maine will relinquish their home games to facilitate the event.

In 2010, Boston College and Boston University faced each other in the inaugural Frozen Fenway. That game, which sold out in minutes, also featured the New Hampshire and Northeastern women playing in a
late-afternoon tilt before the BC-BU nightcap.

This year’s game will hardly be a guaranteed sellout. In 2010, the BC-BU game took place a week after Fenway hosted the NHL’s Winter Classic between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Boston Bruins. Tickets for the Winter Classic were in such demand that the BC-BU game became an highly coveted ticket in its own right.

Sun Life, which sponsored the 2010 Frozen Fenway, will not underwrite this season’s event, according to sources. Hockey East is actively seeking a corporate partner to underwrite the event.

Similar to the 2010 Winter Classic, the ice sheet at Fenway will be used for multiple ancillary events prior. Sources report that Boston residents will once again be eligible for an open skate at the park. There could also be a number of private events that could offset the costs of building the temporary ice surface.

Unlike 2010, Dan Craig, the NHL’s “ice guru,” will not oversee the event, which takes place just six days after this year’s Winter Classic. There is no information on which company will build and oversee the ice surface.

Further information on tickets will be available after Frozen Fenway’s formal announcement on Friday.
