BC Exhibition

Postby claver2010 on Mon Sep 28, 2009 5:20 pm

The hockey team kicks off its underwhelming schedule this Sunday at 5:00 with an exhibition against St. Francis Xavier for those not burned out from the big football weekend. I will be in attendance for a period or two.

Ice got put down today. No lines or anything but I can directly confirm that the ice is up.

Everything was painted and the next layer of ice was going down.

It's the best time of the year.
I prefer hockey.

News of the exhibition is that Muse played the first period. After rumors of him missing a month or more this was the best kept secret at BC. He allowed one goal in one period (glove side high, obviously), however I look for Jerry to ease him back in for the first month or so.

John Muse sucks. Sadly the rest of the BC goalies do as well. Venti has to be in the running for the worst backup in Hockey East.

I saw one of the stat sheets from the exhibition sitting around Conte today. BC looked to dominate but the game seemed to get veeeery chippy. They left the scoreboard on and at the end of the game BC had three guys in the box.

I thought I saw someone got a game misconduct? Really in an exhibition game?

There wasn't just one game misconduct either. It got pretty ugly by the end of the game. Reminded me of one of those classic Hockey East brawls with Merrimack when one team is better than the other, so the inferior teams just starts cheap shotting away.

The second exhibition was a much better game, against obviously a better program. BC is clearly a young team, but a very talented team as well. Defense will be a problem with the youth and the only leader being the totally inept Carl Sneep. Kreider has already showed great speed and skills and he's going to be a fun player to watch.
