Muse Theory

I hate to question King Jerry. And the team is moving on, so I'm not complaining. But thinking about Muse's recent play, I can't help but notice that he hadn't played back-to-back nights since 11/14/09-11/15/09. Is it a coincidence that in his first sets of back-to-back games in 18 weeks he has allowed 1 goal in game 1 and 13 goals in game 2? Of course the competition (and offenses) were better in both game 2's, but is it possible he was also tired because he wasn't used to the back-to-back nights very often over the course of the season? That's quite a discrepancy.

If so, this is a good sign that his recent struggles may be isolated to games within 24 hours of each other - after all, the semi and final are seperated by a day off. Makes me feel better anyway.

I think BC will match up well against Miami. It seems BC can play in a low scoring game or high scoring game. Muse has a good post season experience while Parker Milner is a good backup. Either goalie will do.

Solid theory, not sure what to make out of it.

No one really knew when Muse would be ready and fully healthy, which is why initially time was split. Milner played better than anyone really expected so it forced York's hand. Would I have played Muse more? Yes, there were games when I showed up to see the lines and was stunned that Milner would be between the pipes.

As you said, we won't have to play any more back to back games this year.

I'm not sure what to make of your theory either. On one hand, it makes sense, given the (albeit) small sample of stats. On the other hand, Muse played every game of his first two years, and endurance was never an issue then, so far as I noticed (case in point = Miami game the day after the Minny game in Worcester).

The hardest thing ever is to get back into game shape, especially when coming off an injury. As much practice and cardio as you do, to get the stamina to go out full tilt for one game and do it again the next day is extremely difficult if you haven't done it often throughout the year. Definitely could see this one having legs.

Still doesn't explain the defense being completely inept, though I think that's more of a skill issue than an actual stamina problem.
