Callahan and Kessler both played the games of their lives.

Kesler was absurd today. Not just the EN at the end but he was fantastic all game. The best forward out there by far. And Ryan Miller is good.

Seemed the Swiss came out and started the physical play last night and the US responded quite well, but it will be interesting to see if the US continues to play this way.

The lack of an olympic ice surface could save them going forward as they have quite a few "power forward" players compared to the Parise/Kane types that usually thrive on the big sheet.

Those power forwards won the game tonight. Kane/Kessel looked overwhelmed in the first half of the game and then Kane came to life at the end while Kessel didn't even see the ice.

How do you figure. Russia has 7 points and won their group, which means they'll get a bye too, no? The USA couldn't see them until there semis? USA will get the winner of the 8/9 or the 7/10 game, so I think it'll be someone like the Slovaks, if I'm not mistaken. Brackets are confusing.

Maybe NBC will decide MSNBC should be the channel to show Russia v. Canada in a quarterfinal elimination game on Wednesday.

No question, 1-seed would be optimal. We can take teams like Slovakia and Czechs IMO, but if Sweden, Canada, and Russia all end up on the other side of the bracket, we'll be a big favorite from our side to make it to the finals.

Hiller has been playing very well. US hasn't had many grade A opportunities but there is always a Malone type player in front.

But this game is scaring the hell out of me. Imagine if we beat Canada then turn around and lose to Switzerland.
