I concur. My winter jacket is very heavy right now from the multiple half-pints and nips that I have assembled for the occasion.
I drink whiskey instead of water.

This hasn't been pretty thus far. BC looks like they have cement legs. Tom Caron just mentioned that Jerry York made an in-game adjustment on the BC PP. Hopefully they get the NHLN in Clemson, South Carolina so Al will consider doing the same tomorrow.

What a shock, BC comes up with nothing in a big game against BU. We need more Canadian mercenaries a fewer rich kids from Greenwich.

You know, BU was able to find a decent rich kid rich kid from Greenwich. Some guy named Wilson. Fun time there tonight, great atmosphere, hope all of you who came out stayed warm, it got wicked cold in the third.

Just got back home (in time to see my Jets win but I wasn't going to post during that), I drove up for the game and stayed a night up there. Here are my thoughts.

1. It was worth going to, but it's not something I want to experience again.
2. I had a partially (and by partially I mean largely) obstructed view by sitting in the student section. I'm sure Fenway did their homework but to me it made more sense to me to put the rink down a line, probably the right field line. It looked like there were very few unobstructed seats, relatively speaking.
3. It seemed to me the game wasn't so much a skill game, but more of a dump and chase because of the rink. It looked like our team's speed was killed because of the rink.

Again, fun, but to be honest, I have 1000x more fun going down to Agganis.

For those who attended, do you think a bowl game at Fenway in late December/early January have any appeal beyond the first year?

No.

Boston fans don't give a shit about non-Boston teams.

My thought is you only have to sell 30k in tickets. If you get a steady diet of UConn, BC, Rutgers and the academies you wouldn't need many locals. Plus I think "playing at Fenway" might mean more to some MAC and NBE fans than playing in Mobile or Toronto.

There is 0 chance that the Red Sox let them play football on that field. Took them 40 years to get an infield with true hops.

I'm not sure how I feel about this tread of playing sporting events in weird, non-traditional venues.

The sightlines are terrible, but you only have to do what San Fran does to see how you could make something like this work. Also, this might do better as a middle-of-December bowl rather than an early January bowl because of how quickly the temperature drops over those few weeks.

This event is something that I wanted to experience once (the whole "mystique" of being at Fenway in the snow, etc..) but never want to do again the quality of play was pretty bad and views were awful as well where they put the students, I don't expect to be in the EMC club but being able to see the ice would be nice. If it can generate more hype for the sport, great. Anyways time to get back on track with a little homestand starting with PC tomorrow. Here are some pictures I took:

TRE, I actually saw someone alone, brown bagging it, muttering outside of Fenway walking in circles who looked like he took all day powering through a 6 pack of Heineken -unfortunately no sign of a gucci hat though.

was he wearing a red jacket? did he have a 70s porn stache? did he reek of astroglide and monkey turds? this could have been center-hash

WRONG. you are WRONG.

I was wearing work clothes, because I had to come straight fromwork. I was sober, because I drove, and I was with friends, because I'm so friggin' popular.

And Axe Body Spray does NOT smell like monkey turds, for your information.

Even with the local fans of the teams partaking, I felt the excitement waned very quickly at the hockey game.

It would likely be a terrible time/day slot and the appeal to both the local sports fans and affiliated conferences would be minimal at best. It would be a major mistake.
