Shorty from Giles makes it 3-0 after 2. ND is severely overrated.

Eagles win 4-0. Spencer Knight notches his 4th shutout. Cotton with the capper.

That was delightful. Notre Dame was completely overmatched. They actually aren’t overrated, but we are far more talented and Spencer Knight is the best goalie I have seen at BC.

This is a very good BC team. Maybe the most talent I’ve seen. Much younger than the championship teams, but it will be fun to see if they can make it

knight: .939 save %, 1.79 GAA
woll: .913, 2.64
demko: .919, 2.24
muse: .913, 2.39

obviously a long way to go but amazing

I hope that ND thoroughly enjoyed that 3-day combined hockey+hoops ass-reaming at the hands of BC this past weekend.

With games in hand BC can climb back up in the standings.

I feel much better against UMass than last year.

Tough game to lose tonight. BC dominated, but Lindberg made 40 saves, several were Grade A chances. Boldly playing great, but still snake-bit.

Ohio State defenseman being taken off the ice on a stretcher, due to a stupid hit by a Wisconsin player. Not a terribly hard hit, but he pushed the back of his head into the boards. Scary stuff.

Shoiuld have ended 1-1 in regulation but that giveaway by Matilla on the blue line hurt

careless mistake

I thought the giveaway was on Hutsko.

Nice bounce-back on Saturday, though. Maybe the difference in BC's powerplay is the talent level, rather than the coaching.

I thought it was Hutsko as well. Glad to see that they turned around and thumped UMASS the next night.

Barring an absolute collapse, this is a tournament team. I think they're a year away (assuming few, if any, early departures), but if Spencer Knight gets super hot and the trend of increased scoring from the bottom-six forwards and d-men continues, it's not inconceivable that this team makes the Frozen Four. It only helps that the league is really tough this year. With Jerry, Bazin, Lehman, Carvel and Madigan, this is the best collection of coaches that HE has seen for a while. Souza seems to be moving UNH in the right direction, too. TBD on Borek at 'Mack, but I'm not hopeful for him. Sneddon will be gone from UVM after this season. They should have a much better program. Albie seems to be in over his head at BU. UConn's situation is horrible, and I'd be thrilled if they left HE. Maine has returned to their natural level, when not cheating.

Nice little comeback road win. That was as bad a start to a game as you can have.

That was a nice comeback road win in a place that has been a house of horrors for us in the recent years. Lucky bounce to start for Lowell followed by some really sloppy defense on the 2nd goal. The last few years the team would have fallen apart and taken a heavy beating. This team buckled down, weathered the early storm and survived down 2-0 at the end of 1. The second period they took it to Lowell and tied it at 2-2. Third period we kept up the momentum and Hutsko scored a very pretty breakaway goal with a Lowell kid draped all over him. In the end, when Lowell was pressing, they stayed disciplined—got in the shooting lanes and kept Lowell tied up down low while Knight was his usual excellent self on the shots that got through.

I don’t care if they suck or not, it is always delightful to beat the Rat Dogs from the unattractive and academically inferior end of Comm Ave. Perhaps Albie O’Connell was not the inspired hire that some thought he might be.

Coming into the game, this felt like a classic game we'd lose against a bad BU team hen we're coming off some good wins. Glad the team proved me wrong.

Team played their C+ game and were able to beat their rivals

The huge picture of O’Connor dropping the puck against providence behind the BU goalie was a nice touch

Husko doing the kuznetsov (minus the coke) after the first goal was hilarious

I hope that Albie is perfectly mediocre, and that the BU administration gives him lots of time to never quite figure it out.

After playing well and earning a 2-goal lead through the first period, BC stared to mail it in and gave up 3 to a mediocre (at best) Maine team. Several 3 on 1's, 2 on 1's.

Came back to tie it at the end, with a 6x4 goal, only to have OT see McInnis get beat to the puck by Trailmarks(it looked like McInnis slowed down), then get beat again by Trailmarks on the pass to an open player in front of the net.

York was pretty ticked in the post-game presser.

Awful weekend for the Eagles against a very mediocre Maine team. Hope it can be chalked up to youth and inexperience. Would be nice if York can use this to beat up on the guys in practice this week and get them on a run through February as he has done it the past. He seemed very frustrated with what he characterized as very sloppy and flat play.
