Sieve Chant

The PA announcer, instead of taking his usual 2-3 minutes to verify the assists and announce the goal, is now doing so very quickly, enough to try and drown out the "you suck, it's all your fault" part of the BC sieve chant. I'm sure he's been instructed to do so.

We pretty much have the tamest crowd in terms of what is said by the students, but even the sieve chant is now too much?

almost as bad as the band going rogue and deciding not to play it anymore, they're the worst

impressive umass is 4-1-1 despite losing their leading goal scorer. granted, they just got pasted 6-1 against yale

the band sucks and has always sucked and that's why they don't get invited to bowl games

So I dont like that the sieve chant has expanded to add the "at life. And goaltending." I liked it better when you just told the guy he sucked and that was that. For whatever reason the addition bugs me.

But it is lame to drown out the sieve chant in general because its tradition and I even thought York said it wasn't a big deal when the band was doing their best to make it go away.

bc hockey made the front page of espn: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:14048429

anyone who was there want to chime in on what set fitz off? looks like he got a dq (which is a 1 game suspension right?)

umass is a miserable program, they should toss nd & them and get back to 10 teams

I never liked that either. The sieve chant itself is great and adding those lines at the end are a shitty attempt at humor. :screamyeagle

Getting speared is what set Fitz off. Another brawl near the end of today's game. Actually sent Maine's goalie to the box, due to a 10-min. misconduct. Don't recall ever seeing that before. Maine's top line has one point through 9 games. No offensive talent, so they result to being a dirty, dirty program.

This BC team is a lot of fun to watch. Fast, strong, everyone's back on D, Demko playing lights out, goals being scored by different lines. They just take too many penalties.

I think I was one of maybe 1,000 people there, going head to head with the Pats. Nice scheduling by HEA.

PS - I like the "at life, and goaltending" addition.

Apparently this kid did the same thing at the end of a game against Union last year. What a scumbag.

What's strange is that Vesey's supposed to be one of their talented kids, and is on their top line; his brother might win the Hobey this year.

It's a great addition. And fuck the people who think it's too non PC. They suck at life as well.

Reflecting the overall student body, they are mostly nerds, but I have not seen cheer cards.

We don't think its non-PC. We think it's lame.

Back to actual things that matter, depth is worrying me. I assume that Jerry will Play McMullen 5-6 mins a night on the 4th line till he get Silk or Calnan back. What has been nice is we've been able to roll 3 lines capable of scoring, and a 4th line that is more capable than the last 2 years worth of "shut down 4th lines" that couldn't get out of their own zones.

Silk has nerve damage in his shoulder out for a couple of more months

Went to the uconn game on tuesday game, think they ran the 4th line out there once. depth should be interesting as the season progresses

Was at the Maine game Saturday couple weeks back...don't think McMullen left the bench in that one. Not to question Sir York, but we should roll out that line in games when up by 4....

I don't get why he doesn't rotate in someone from the top 3 lines with Jeke and Dudek if he doesn't want to give McMullen time out there. Those two don't look out of place out there, especially against the JV competition in the early season.

Agreed. They've both looked solid. Would help keep everyone else from getting gassed.

after wood got a dq against ohio state, this was the lineup they put out against providence

Image

2 d playing F
a F they have no intention on ever playing
and a kid who joined the school a couple of days ago

needless to say not the best trip to florida, hopefully it'll be better in april

So 3 straight losses from blown 3rd quarter leads. Not good.

Though OSU did go on to steamroll Cornell inexplicably, I think that the Providence loss isn't as bad, per se - giving up a 1 goal lead to the defending national champs is a little different than blowing a 2 goal lead to a 4 win team the day before.

And Wood needs to figure out where the line is and stop crossing it. He's a good player, but he's starting to earn and deserve a reputation and it hurts the team as whole.

Anyone worried that Ryan Fitz is starting his 2nd half disappearing act again?

yeah i think wood's at that point regarding his reputation. most penalized player on most penalized team (bc is leading nation in pen min / game by ~3 min). he's a couple of minors away from having the most penalty minutes at bc in a season in 3 years with 3+ months to play

he had the same issue last year in high school.

fwiw santini had that issue as a fr (pretty well earned imo) and has been able to outgrow it

I just worry the He refs will go into games looking for reasons to blow the whistle on him at this point. They usually don't need to be convinced too hard to take over a game.

3 out of 4 points against a top team with the most valuable player out? that certainly works

5-7 on the powerplay
battling back from 4-1 on the road

apparently demko isn't too far away, but with head injuries who knows

Fun games to watch. PC did a nice job with their building, without a rebuild. Concession lines are still awful, though. Amazing that they don't need 100 thugs in orange jackets to keep the peace. More money wasted at BC.
