Beanpot

Closest to 4 teams legitimately having a shot in a while. Thought Harvard would have a good chance at BU in a sleepy 5:00 empty arena but Harvard's 2-4-0 in the new year.

Silk & Linell still hurt so McMullen in according to the kid. For the 2nd straight game York played Doherty at F as the game wore on and only went to 5 dmen. Imagine he'll do that as well tomorrow night.

Delayed until Tuesday.

Harvard also lost their best dman for the year recently. So they're pretty screwed it seems.

At least this explains why McMullen was in the other night. Worried about that long term, York barely played him and had Doherty up front with 5 dmen.

The refs in this league are thoroughly confusing me

Frustrating game.

One of the hallmarks of the team over their run in the last 2 or so months was that they brought it every night for pretty much 60 minutes. Didn't happen last night.

16 shots through 2 periods & 23 for the game is pretty embarrassing.

Thought each member of the blue line had troubles at stages of the game. Rough game for McCoshen, off the high standard he has played at for much of the year.

York took McMullen off the ice starting in the 2nd period and moved Teddy up to F. The problem with that is for much of the 2nd & 3rd period York used 3 lines and essentially rendered Doherty, one of our most consistent dmen useless.

Looks like the team had tired legs for the 3rd period. Not sure if it was the short bench or what but minimal jump at all.

The PK looked pretty bad as well, beyond the 2-6 that NU put up. Maybe some of these units don't have the speed to play the balls to the wall aggressive style BC used over the years.

Hopefully the loss last night doesn't carry over into a L Friday at a tough place to play or Monday against a tough team in an empty arena.

Not excuse making, but it took them almost 2 hours to get across town, they got ready to play then that first game went 2 OTs.

BC doesn't have overwhelming talent so they need to actually show up and they didn't last night.

Also, if the refs are going to call ticky-tack interference on BC, they should call the blatant ones on NE. HE refs are the worst.

NU deserved to win, they were the better team by a mile.

Not that its going to change, but i dont understand why OT in round 1 isnt 5 min ot followed by shootout. (I dont understand why hockey east as a whole isnt that for the record)

what time did the puck actually drop last night? 930?

About 9:35. I'm glad I decided against going.

I decided just to walk a block to the bar to watch the game. Being up and drinking until midnight was not wise.

Not a good effort from BC last night. Why isn't Linnel dressed? He should be up front and give us the ability to play 6 DMen. We're going to wear down with too much of this short shifting.

Oh well. Go nospaces. Keep BU's lack of a streak alive.

I'd hate to let my agenda go to waste here, Mattheson was awful last night again. The turnovers are so careless

What the hell was the low man doing streaking to the point and creating a screen/letting the Northeastern guy get in line for a mini-screen of Demko?
