Not an expert in hockey by an means, but I thought our defense as a whole was weak all game. And that turnover right in front of our own goal was devastating.
IF you are going to play finesse hockey with lots of passing, you need to have a strong defense and goalkeeping to rely on when you make that one pass that leads to a quick counter.

:-(
I was hoping he would stay to win the championship next year but then again personally it would probably be a poor decision on his part being the best player in the country.

The way he was not being protected by the refs especially in the third period and the UML game I would have to say he should go. I thought he got slashed at least 3 times before he got a call yesterday.

Herald says he's gone

Wouldn't playing on Sunday burn a year of his ELC?

yeah from what i heard surprisingly, the issue wasn't whether he was going to sign w Calgary eventually or not but it was when. they were so scared at the thought of him playing out next year and just not signing w them & becoming a FA

thinking about it my guess is it was part of their agreement that they'd burn a year of his elc on one game, typical calgary

If they really want him it's not that crazy of a strategy. Similar enough situation but the B's did that with Krug, signing him as a UDFA essentially for the final two weeks of the season and the AHL playoffs and burning a year of the ELC.

Why can't Coach CaliparYork just do it right as Yale and Union do? Seems to me that the "Easy-A-C" that you people are always making fun of is doing something right- sticking it in the eye of the minor league BIG and HE.
