Interesting contrast of styles tonight. BC #1 offense in the country, UML #1 D tonight. Granted, BC is also the #7 D.

Hellebuck is on fire, hasn't allowed more than a goal since G2 of the QF.

BC did dominate 5 of the 6 periods against Lowell when they met a month ago. UML won't be surprised by the first line like Denver was.

One thing to watch, BC has the #5 PP in the country (24.1%), UML's PK is in the lower third nationally at 81.1%. When they met earlier BC's powerplay was 2/4.

Was Denver really surprised by the BC first line? It's not like Gaudreau/Arnold/Hayes is a secret.

DU coach seemed surprised. Left his least experienced line on against our top line several times and they never got over it.

Not surprised in the sense that they're the best in college hockey but surprised in the fact that they've never played against anything like this ever and there's no way to simulate it.

I think the difference is that Denver had to skate with BC to win - teams that do that get annihilated. UML and Notre Dame make no such mistake and play the brand of hockey necessary to beat BC.

Stupid fucking play by Arnold leads to a crappy goal by uml. Down 3-2.

Great individual effort by Fitzgerald gets the game back to even.

Is BC always this bad at breaking the puck out or is it something about Lowell? Half their attempts are blind throws up the boards to Lowell dmen and wingers and way too many attempts up the middle.

McCoshen's flubbed shot from the top of the circles beats the sliding goalie to give BC the lead again.

BC has looked sloppy. Some of that has to be a credit to UML but it has not been a stellar showing.

4-3 BC with 3 min left.

Uml has done a nice job clogging up the passing lanes with disciplined checking when BC has the puck. Way better team than Denver.

Lowell just took a TO with 1.5 minutes left. Faceoff in Lowell zone.

What a game. Who says this is a 1 line team?

Huge goal by Fitz and from there through the McCoshen goal BC really dominated. Last time UML allowed 4 was over 2 months ago.

Matheson created a lot of offense as well makes you hold your breath at times, but his offensive skill on the blueline is pretty impressive.

Union is on quite the roll, would be nice to get some revenge for last year's prison raping.

That freshman line blew me away (and the goal they let up was 100% on Matheson, not the forwards)

Was that the same play where he was not paying attention that the pass was for him and he just stood there in front of the goalie ? I had a sudden anxiety attack and before you knew it, UML scores a goal.

I was listening on the radio and had to go in with about 6 minutes left. But I was glad when I heard BC won later.

Lowell is a dirty team that averages 4 years older than BC and is allowed to get away with murder for some reason. Some of the extracurricular set the tone early. Once the game settled in, BC dominated. BC gave away a goal and Lowell got a goal on a PP on the worst penalty call in history, otherwise, this one wouldn't have been as close as it was.
