Hockey East site says BC places lowest ranked team out of round 1; national hockey site shows them playing winner of 8 vs. 9 matchup. Which is correct?

HE is right. The tournament is reseeded after every round.

Of the possible teams, I'd prefer to face Merrimack, BU, UVM, and then ND. In other words, hoping for an upset this weekend.

so in other words, you are hoping to face the worst team.

isn't this pretty much automatic - kinda like "i hope i go home with the hottest woman in the bar" or "i hope the guy that rapes me has the smallest weener" or "i hope that guy that i start a texting relationship with has diarrhea of the fingers and refuses to shut up about every topic he knows the least about"

sort of, big drop off from ND to everyone else. argument could be made of wanting to play BU

If we face (and sweep) ND, very good chance we get the top PWR spot back though.

okay - just wanted to confirm that you're a nerd (based on grad date) and a bagina (based on wanting to pussy your way through a tournament rather than hoping for your team to face and prove themselves as better than the best).

thanks for the confirmation, magic wanda

oh noes, different jersey color possibility in the semis/finals if we come in 2nd!

...and having to put our lines out first, and facing someone like Cornell or Michigan in the first round instead of Air Force or Mercyhurst....

I'm not worried we'll lose to those teams, but an easier game means less chance of injury, more rest for the top-line guys, and more ice time for the guys at the end of the bench. What I am more concerned with is getting the line change advantage in the event of a potential championship game against Minnesota.

Anyway it's a wash anyway in terms of opponent difficulty, I'm simply hoping for a tougher opponent now in order to give us a good shot at an easier one (and the line change advantage) later on.

I just want to lock a spot in Worcester, which I think a first round win over ND should assure.

BC is locked into either the 1st or 2nd 1 seed.

Only way BC gets kicked OUT of Worcester is if Yale wins the ECAC tournament. They'd be a 4 seed in Bridgeport since they're hosting.

Union is locked into the 3rd #1. Given that they can't play in conference games in teh first round Union would have to move. Odds are they would move them to Worcester and BC to Bridgeport. Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world but the games are Friday/Saturday opposed to Saturday/Sunday.
