In the world of college athletics, where does hockey rank? For example, in professional sports in the USofA, hockey ranks 4th or 5th (interest, importance, etc.) behind football, basketball, baseball, and maybe golf. In college, it ranks behind football, basketball, probably baseball, maybe soccer. Anything else?

I would say 4th the pros ahead of golf.
Probably also 4th in college, baseball has made huge strides in college. 15 years ago I may have said even. You can probably thank ESPN. Definitely not soccer.

Joking aside, I think it breaks down regionally after football and hoops. Hockey in the Northeast, Midwest and Rockies. Baseball in the South, Southwest and California. Lacrosse in the Mid-Atlantic.
Soccer has to compete head-to-head with football, I doubt it has a stronger following than the previously mentioned sports in any of the respective regions.

Isn't NASCAR top three amongst pros?
Men's Hockey is most likely in a tight group vying for 4th amongst men's sports. Nags hoop is ahead of it if you're classifying that as a sport.

eh...i think nag's hoop is just forced down people's throats via the ESPN machine. Men's Hockey is way more supported by real sports fans. what do the BC gals draw? 250 people?
