Not to look ahead but the luncheon is today

York announced that Demko will start on Monday night.

BU blew a 2-goal lead in the third, and were only skating 4 d-men down the stretch. UMass put 49 shots on net, very fast pace at the end. Hope BU is tired on Monday

Hayes' injury doesn't seem too serious. With Hockey East basically wrapped up, rest him as much as he needs so the Philly Express can go full steam ahead. Demko is a dude.

Everytime we play PC down at the Schneider, it's getting to be a smackdown and the refs let too much go and we come out with a number of dinged up or injured players. To BC's credit, they did not retaliate but the number of injured players concerns me and so does the inconsistent reffing.

If BC retaliates, they always get bagged for it.

Walking wounded includes Doherty, Hayes and McCoshen. Last year, MacLeod was knocked out for a period of time. I notice they also target JG, and you can see some of that after the goal he scored to make it 2-0 during the faceoff.

York has to complain to the league about the inconsistent calls during the year to protect his players. How does Santini merit hitting too hard when PC lays out BC players with more brutal hits and our players get injured ??? Hitting after the whistle not called when Matheson was rammed hard into the net. WTF

Santini has backed off but the next one he gets merits game suspensions if he gets DQ or major, right ??

I'm getting to think some refs have a bias when there shouldn't be.

They certainly have a gameplan down there.

Quinn got pretty beat up on a shift as well.

Based on the practice report, sounds like Hayes will play tonight. Assume Linell on the blue line, ugh

Don't think it's them being biased, I think they're all just terrible and have been that way for years.

Never easy to beat BU at the Garden but now we're getting more breaks and puck luck that we didn't get in the past. The final with NU will be a war and hopefully BC will win. It will be a close game. Harvard was just awful and Donato may be gone after the season. But just speculating after another fruitless Beanpot and another mediocre season for the Crimson.

Hard to tell how good NU is when they play a team like Harvard. They gave BC 2 very close games earlier in the season.

Very satisfying win last night.

Several jumbled thoughts:
1) The McCoshen injury is a little concerning, especially the silence surrounding it. Leads all HE defensemen in +/-, plays in all situations, etc, etc. Haven't heard anything about it.
2) Good job by BU executing their game plan of mucking it up, trying to slow BC down. If that team played like that every night they would have more than 1 win since Thanksgiving.
3) Salzano captured the gif of Santini tossing that BU player into the bench to start the game

Image

4) Thought Fitzgerald had his best game in a looooooonnnnnggg time.
5) Any question as to who the starting goalie should be?
6) The powerplay has been very meh the past 2 games (probably exaggerated by the bad 5 minute major in the 3rd).

How bad have things gotten at BU?

The Daily Free Pass is praising the team's "courageous" performance last night: http://www.thebostonhockeyblog.com/2014 ... anpot.html

Worst atmosphere of any BC-BU Beanpot (maybe any matchup) game since I've been going (2000). It's not the same without a horde of sweatered mongoloids cheering "Not in Boston". Of course if I had to choose winning over atmosphere, I go with the former every time.

Our fans showed very well, although someone needs to tell the students that chants like "BU football" are more of a response when behind in the game and/or when your football team is further removed from a 2 win season. The kids behind me had obtained all their Beanpot and cawlidge hawkee knowledge from ESPN Boston...

Those who like soccer probably adored Hayes' squirming leading to a game misconduct. The team thoroughly outplayed the Terriers despite the close game.

The Garden really needs to switch the TVs to an internal feed so that there isn't a 12 second discrepancy between them and the on-ice play.

Should be a good one Monday night.

This is one of the great mysteries of life. The Garden is not the only place that does this.

Was a very weak showing by fanboy nation. Their BC basketball response made me chuckle again

Didn't see the Hayes hit, only saw him down. Will rewatch tonight.

The hit was a penalty but was more an awkward landing because of the spot on the ice and the momentum of the players than an ill-willed slam. Hayes sold it and then was up and smiling in no time after the kid was thrown out.

I could watch the Santini hit all day. Have loved his game from the get-go.

One thing of concern is Matheson continues to make these little gaffes or careless mistakes handling the puck. Sometimes I feel he gets too slick and nonchalant with his moves and passes that turn into turnovers. I just saw one play on the rebroadcast where he coughs it up and the BU player hits the post on Demko. It seems from game to game he makes these mistakes almost each game.

Just saw the BU goal also, the shot went between Brown's legs and looks like Demko didn't pick it up in time.

matheson continues to get too many penalties, and they let that game stay way too close considering how lopsided it was...

Quinn has really improved year over year, more than any other guy on the team IMO... Fitzgerald played a great game. Demko should start the rest of his career at the heights...

I think with him, when he makes a mistake he is forced to take a penalty. I think he needs more time here if he's thinking pro to clean up his game. For all that raw talent he has, he needs to polish his skills and I think a mentor would do wonders for him. Other times he needs to be more disciplined and not take the dumb penalty and that is where maturity comes in.

Should be? I've just assumed that barring injury, Jerry's found the one horse he likes to ride to the end.

I thought he had won it even earlier in the year and JY still gave BB some starts. That's all I meant. Plus the fact that he's still confirming with the media.
