A week and a day until the season starts in Ann Arbor.

Some articles:
Thatcher Demko, FR goalie who IMO will win the starting job sooner rather than later. http://www.uscho.com/2013/10/01/through ... rting-job/

Johnny Gaudreau not surprisingly named a top 10 F: http://www.uscho.com/2013/10/02/ten-to- ... r-2013-14/

Matheson named a top 10 D: http://www.uscho.com/2013/10/01/ten-to- ... r-2013-14/

Michigan's best F Alex Guptill is suspended for the game http://thebostoncollegehockeyblog.blogs ... -game.html

Michael Sit is questionable for the game next Thursday

After being down 2-0 today, I was just impressed with the depth up front and on the blue line.

Demko looked good in net in the 2nd period, Billet played 1st, then Barone

Size is an improvement and speed too

All I can say is wow and hope they can beat the Wolverines this week.

I was trying to learn the numbers of players that are new.

3 McCoshen
6 Santini
11 Calnan
14 Gilmour
19 Fitzgerald
21 Matt Gaudreau
22 Richardson
26 Cangelosi
28 Savage
26 Cangelosi
30 Demko

Some notes from the exhibition:

Beat St. Francis X (of Canada) 8-2 yesterday afternoon, they lost to BU 2-1 on Saturday.

Box Score: http://www.collegehockeystats.net/1314/ ... c_sfx1.o06
the kid's write up: http://thebostoncollegehockeyblog.blogs ... ctory.html
BC's: http://www.bceagles.com/sports/m-hockey ... 13aaa.html
TOS's: http://bostoncollege.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1558416
BCI's: http://www.bcinterruption.com/2013/10/6 ... rancis-8-2

Sit & Straight sat out yesterday. Sit probably won't play Thursday, Straight maybe (no need to rush him back).

Seems it will be on local television in Ann Arbor.

Unless some stream site picks up that feed, the only option is probably a sling box from someone in Michigan.

I thought Comcast was carrying this game? If so, you should be able to stream if you're a Comcast subscriber

Some updates with the game tomorrow:

In a somewhat surprising move, Billett will start in goal not the FR Demko.
Colin Sullivan has left the team. Not surprising, he didn't factor to be playing much at all this season.
Here are the game notes: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/bc/ ... 008aaa.pdf

Game will be broadcasted on 850 WEEI, CONFIRMING what eagledave posted earlier.

Little was learned from last yearapparently about not taking stupid penalties. Every team with a pulse ate our lunch last year when they did that. Not making grand proclamations about the team after opening night, but this was really disappointing, not so much because they lost, but how they played.

Didn't see the game but I'm willing to give the 95 freshmen a couple months before writing them off. It's going to be a process with a handful frustrating games thrown in there.

It is a very young team and it will take time. Yes, disappointing 1st game but growing pains. Next test is RPI on Sunday at 3:00 PM.

Demko will be starting Sunday, from what I heard Billet played well tonight and Michigan had 2 PP goals.

It's nice that BC hockey will broadcast every game on the radio. Any thoughts on the broadcasting team ? I miss Jon Rish but life moves on.

Rish is still on the crew. He was just not available to do the game.

First like al of you, couldn't watch it so was relegated to the radio.

Didn't sound like they brought the energy needed from the start.
Like elvis said, on the FR. There are a ton of them, and due to the meh last 2 recruiting classes/this FR class' talent they're getting some serious time (1 on the first line, 2 on the 2nd line, an entire powerplay unit is FR., etc.). It's going to take a little time.

Only 3 for 5 on the kill is a little concerning, obviously 1 game sample. The last powerplay goal hurt. They had the chance to come out of the lockerroom, kill the final 30 seconds of Arnold's penalty, and really push for the tying goal.

As I've been saying for months, really don't get Linell on the blue line. He was very shaky last season there and from the reports on twitter, tonight was no different.

Sounds like Billet played very well, we'll see what Demko has Sunday.

All that said, they had their chances Richardson hits the post on a breakaway, Brown misses a wide open net, etc.

I guess the hoops weirdos are too full of optimism to mess with right now.
