Oh and once I saw a blimp!

It is ironic that this Mr. Burns runs a souvenir stand, no?

Gaudreau with a PP goal vs. the B's - rocket of a wrister over Rask's shoulder. Wish we had him for one more year.

So do the people responsible for manipulating data for BC's alleged stellar graduation rate for "student" athletes.

Great shot by Gaudreau, but can anyone tell me why the B's gave him so much time with the puck? They didn't have to make it so easy.

Man the Bruins flame out and no one bumps this up? It would boggle my mind if they kept both Chiarelli and Julien...one of them has to go.

Looking forward to seeing if my Caps can finally break through this year. Unfortunately, Dick's Rangers are looking like quite the unstoppable force right now.

The Bruins didn't flame out, they were awful all season. Not making the playoffs spared me watching that shitty team.

I would say they were mediocre for much of the season. In the end, all they needed to do was win 2 of their last 3 -- and not only did the lose all 3 but they looked inept in the first two games. They flamed out.

I didn't notice, frankly, because they sucked all season.

They were streaky all year. To close out the season the went lose 6, win 1, lose 1, win 2, lose 1, win 5, lose 6, win 5 and lose 3. Not really flaming out, just par for the course for the year. Went all in last year with the Iginla contract (still the right move IMO) and had to give up Boychuk this year as ramifications. Still have a good enough core with Krejci, Rask, Bergeron and Chara, though Chara slowed down due to his permanently torn PCL. Curious to see what the offseason entails but I wouldn't be too surprised if Chia and Julien come back. One bad year out of eight doesn't necessitate firing IMO.

Yeah, Chara's injury was a big problem, as was having 6 centers and 3 forwards.

They already have Rask. That's like, half the work of building a contender right there.

The way I see it is they have a nice collection of 3rd liners and then Bergeron on offense. That's not enough up front. And Chara is older and slower now. Still a good defensemen, but you're paying him now for what he did 6 years ago, which is more or less what you end up doing in a lot of these situations, but it kind of sucks.

Agree with all of this, but would note Kreiji's injury and the promise of a couple of young talented guys up front.

Soderberg to Colorado for a 6th in 2016. He was the Bs best player in the 2014 playoffs against Canadians. Otherwise, he did nothing.

Slightly more than they would have gotten to let him walk (which everyone knew they were doing). Terrible trade on paper, but not much they could do.

if the bruins had just kept the players they traded away (hamilton boychuk and seguin) and traded away everyone else they may have had a better core

Officially in rebuilding mode. As much as I like McQuad on this team, there is no reason no sign him now.

The Seguin revisionist history is one of my favorite NHL things in recent memory.

Sweeney is also an incompetent moron as evidenced by the Hamiltob trade, McQuaid signing and trading a 2015 5th for a 2016 5th.

Never said it was a good trade but last I checked Greg Wyshynski and Jeff Marek, amongst other prominent hockey folks, aren't Bruins fans. Probably talked myself into the trade but Seguin was relative shit that year, especially in the playoffs with a disappearing 0-fer and general lethargic play, and likely wouldn't become what he is now in Dallas for a myriad of reasons, some legit, some bullshit. He certainly wasn't going to get center minutes and he was certainly an immature shithead, as many young kids are, even disregarding the Sox-esque smear campaign but he wasn't going to get to leverage a Benn type or a kick in the ass. The B's lost that trade by a wide margin but it was a lot more defensible back then. Even then, the trade gave them a President's Trophy via Iginla.

Boychuk is slightly overrated and currently overpaid and over-lengthed (non-TRE...though I have heard he does well for himself), which is made worse by the fact Seidenberg shredded his knee a few weeks after signing a new deal. He may have been the difference between a few playoff games and their current position but not by much.

And again, the fucking shift key.

Zac Rinaldo for a 3rd. Yeah, they're fucked for the next few years with Sweeney and Neely at the helm.
