Jerry York Undergoes Outpatient Eye Surgery
To miss New Hampshire series this weekend

Jan. 10, 2013

Boston College head men's hockey coach Jerry York underwent outpatient eye surgery to repair a detached retina this morning. He is resting comfortably at home. York is expected to miss both games against New Hampshire this weekend.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Jeffrey Heier at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.

Associate head coaches Mike Cavanaugh and Greg Brown will lead the team in York's absence.

The second-ranked Eagles and fourth-ranked New Hampshire will square off in a home-and-home series beginning at Kelley Rink on Friday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. on NESN. The teams will conclude the two-game weekend series in Durham, N.H., the next night.

Well the latest York setback is unfortunate news.

I am headed up with a huge group of grads for the Maine weekend.

Any idea when the York tribute will be re-scheduled?

Assume Friday will be postponed, so Jerry York night will be as well.

They might play Saturday as neither teams are playing but no Beanpot teams play the Saturday before the Beanpot games

Colin Sullivan fully practiced today and if there's a game Saturday he'll be good to go (barring setbacks). Will be nice to finally have 6 Dmen

Well that is unfortunate.

A bunch of us were hoping to watch the game on NESN after a day on the slopes.
