UNH Weekend

Important weekend and good test for struggling BC. Home & home against UNH who we're in a virtual tie with for 1st place (we're up 2 points but have played 1 more game). Friday is on NESN, Saturday might get picked up on a local New Hampshire channel.

Will be the first time York has all his forwards since early November, will be interesting to see how he shakes out the lines with Gaudreau back and also who sits (and there are several candidates). I assme he'll keep the big line he had as is before break (Gaudreau-Mullane-Whitney). I hope he keeps Silk up with Hayes & Arnold though.

Some people think this is the team going through their annual January slump but I'm a little more concerned. The amount of offensive depth scares me, there are far too many players who are playing every night who have done minimal offensively. Obviously putting up offensive numbers isn't the only way to help a team (Quinn Smith) but right now there are too many who aren't contributing offensively.

The young D actually doesn't concern me that much. I was impressed with Jeke on Friday night. The main concern is being 1 injury away from being in real trouble and using 5 for an extended period of time.

One thing this team has going for it is all the big time wins banked from earlier in the season. Right now, despite their troubles they sit #1 in the PWR with an impressive 8-2-1 against teams from the top half of the country. Another benefit is they have the 2nd easiest in conference schedule in the 2nd half.

Big weekend, Friday is already sold out at Conte (did a while ago I believe) and Saturday if it isn't is very close at Lake Whit. The team really struggled on the big ice out in Minnesota, hopefully the experience out there helped.

Wonder if York would try to Jumpstart a 3rd line with perhaps Gaudreau, Brown and Spiro?

i find your moderating skillz better than any of the others on this site. I'd say it's even better than my abilities to suck a fat cock but I'm really really good at licking penis.

It has been awhile since a #2 ranked team faced a #4 team in a Hockey East matchup. This should really rock.

JohnnyHockey with a goal and two assists through 2, all very pretty. It's almost like BC has an extra skater out there full time. Oh how we missed you!

Amazing the difference one guy can make. Impressive performance all around, night and day from last Friday. Still concerned about the offensive depth, 5 goals from top 2 lines again 0 from bottom 2. I wouldn't have moved down Silk but Straight played alright nor would I have sat Spiro.

D was better for first 2 periods, we were outshot but the quality chances weren't close.

Enjoy UNH epstein, really easy drive on a Saturday.

0-0 in the 2nd

Radio is blasting the call

It was right in front of me. UNH kid clearly skating with his head down but Mattheson appeared to hit him in the head coming out of the box.

The worst call was when the identical thing happened to Goudreau and it's only 2 minutes. Absolutely horrible.

I don't watch this team a ton and I know they're young, but the D-men are bad. There were so many defensive zone turnovers. Frankly BC should have lost much worse than 2-1.

Short of the D figuring out how to ditch those awful TOs, this team won't go very far unless Millner stands on his head.

Thanks for that epstein, he certainly has reputation as a physical player who pushes the envelope. This is his 2nd game misconduct, one more carries an auto 1 game suspension. As for the entire D corp, losing Alber is huge. While not the most talented, it allowed 1 upper classman to pair with a FR. The FR D have really struggled on the olympic sized sheet.

All in all they got dominated, outshot 39-23 and was a tie game late in the 3rd.

Nice to see Brooks chip in on the scoring but not enough all around clearly.

Next weekend should be 4 points (home vs. UMass, @ NU) but this team isn't close to humming yet.
