Who is this board rooting for? A natural disaster?

Jackson is actually a RESPEK-able coach, one who does a lot with not a ton. Should be very interesting to see.

Any idea how much tickets would be? I might go just for shits and giggles. I live a 5 minute walk from Agganis.

My bet is around $30/40. IIRC that's what it cost to see BU/BC at Agganis last year.

Face is $26 at Agannis. Very nice place to watch a game if you have no affiliation, sell beer, decent chicken fingers, etc.

Might be worth checking out.

as many on uscho will tell you - beware the nachos. ticket would be 26+stupid fees, don't know if this is a sellout or not.

Dumb question, but why is it that some arenas like Agganis, Walter Brown and (if I recall correctly) Tsongas are able to sell alcohol? I thought that the NCAA doesn't allow the sale of booze at sanctioned events. How do they get around that?

I believe the NCAA rule you are thinking of is the one that disallows alcohol at NCAA Championship events, such as the Frozen Four and the NCAA Regionals.

They had a permit back in the old Walter Brown before and got grandfathered into the new Agannis. At least that's what BU people have told me.

Good luck spending 26 bucks. You can probably hit craigslist and stand for 30, sit for 50. Alone.

The chicken fingers are outstanding, and buying beer is pretty sweet. If you've never been to Agganis, I suggest checking it out, but you could probably do better than paying 50 dollars to watch two schools that you (most likely) hate.

news to me, but ive never heard any explanation so this makes sense. chicken fingers are good, and a new chicken finger place opened up across the street from the arena too.

If you're eating before the game, all discussions start and end with T Anthony's. Or Sunset.

I have no idea how they pulled off a liquor license, it might have something to do with less than 30% of the events at Agganis being for BU athletics. Either way it's pretty sweet. We even have cupholders in our padded seats.

Well that's the thing, no matter who loses, I WIN! :popcorn :skank :popcorn

After 1.) forgetting about it until I saw BU sweaters on the T on the way home, 2.) being unable to find my BC hockey jersey, and 3.) being broke I have decided that I'll unfortunately have to pass. Anyone willing to set up a ESPNU stream? Darn Comcast hasn't worked out that people would actually like to watch these things.

On the other hand though, when BC makes their trip down that way, I'll be willing to shell out $100+ if necessary for the game.

I'm assuming Tsongas gets a pass because it's not on campus.

BU has a lot of work to do. Matt Gilroy and Colin Wilson ain't walkin' through that door.

Boston Domer's game notes:

Notre Dame shutout Boston University last night. That is the first time in 100 games that the Terriers have been shutout.

Boston University is the first defending national champion to start the season 0-2 since Denver in 2005. The Pioneers did not make the NCAA tournament that year.

I think the goal bug will hit BU this year. Wilson was great at finishing (ala Gerbe), we both had a very, very good returning player (Bradford vs. Bonino) neither of whom ever had to be the man.

What you mean that there aren't any 25 year old seniors on this team? :dildodog
In all seriousness you are very lucky Shattenkirk is back, going to need to solidify the core in front of Milan.

Milan has as many losses in 2 games as he did all of last year.

BU will be fine. Too much talent not to. The post title hangover should end soon.

BTW, anyone catch Colin Wilson's first NHL goal against the Bruins the other night? The kid is going to be a superstar, which is too bad as that precludes him from ever wearing a Bruins jersey.

We will see who steps up for BU now that Bonino is out for a month with a dislocated shoulder.

Marc Savard.
Zdeno Chara.

What do they have in common?

Edit: Don't want to take this too off-topic but felt like some things must be addressed.

There's no such talent this year. Never was. All the gone players got the fuck out of town after last year.

Bump again for BUC, allowed 3 unanswered goals in the third and lost to RPI 5-3 at the half empty anus.

4-9-3 overall and 2-7-2 inside HE, comfortably in 9th...
