Piazza was scheduled for 2012 before his injury. I suspect they went for Jeke because Piazza will definitely need until 2013 to recover (although Jeke did make the latest NHL Scouting list of prospects at #184).

I guess I should have said move Piazza back to 2012. We only had 7 rostered D last year, so I guess we could go with the same, but without cross, Shea and dumoulin, ugh. Our 2013 D class is sick.

Looks pretty much accurate.

I wouldn't be shocked if York added another late Dman, it might be former Yale commit Colin Sullivan from Avon -rumor is he's favoring BC over ND

Adding Piazza to Steve Santini and Scott Savage will certainly give BC a pretty spectacular defensive group in 2013. For 2012, Sullivan would certainly be a useful addition -- #75 on last year's NHL Central Scouting list, drafted in the 7th round (#198) by Montreal. Even with him, though, it would be a pretty inexperienced back line next season -- 4 freshmen plus a sophomore (Mark Begert) who saw almost no ice time this season.

With the addition of Adam Gilmour, BC now has 5 forwards definitely scheduled for 2013:

Chris Calnan
Austin Cangelosi
Ryan Fitzgerald
Adam Gilmour
Conor McGlynn

With so many forwards coming in next year, and only 3 forwards scheduled so far for this year to replace 4 leaving (Almeida, Atkinson, Carey, Kreider), there seems to be a good possibility that York will bring in Evan Richardson for 2012-13 rather than wait until 2013. Does anyone have any information on this?

I'll use this as a schedule thread as well:

12/28/12: Mariucci Classic -Alabama in Huntsville/Air Force/Minnesota (I imagine we'll play AF so Minny has the layup to the title game)
12/29/12: Mariucci Classic -Alabama in Huntsville/Air Force/Minnesota
1/11/13: vs UNH
1/12/13: @ UNH
2/4/13: Beanpot -Harvard
2/11/13: Beanpot -NU/BU
2/17/13 (Sunday): vs. UNH

Is it possible that we would pick up Penn St. on the schedule next year?

Nope

We don't have many open slots remaining and York likes to challenge his team, especially on the road.

INCH had their too early top 10, BC checked in at 6

http://insidecollegehockey.com/inch/2012/05/23/10for13_teams/

The defending national champions are one of the elite programs in the nation and always have to deal with quality players leaving the program due to graduation or professional hockey opportunities. This year might have hurt more than most, but the Eagles are certainly still among the top teams in the country. We’re a little concerned about where some of the scoring might come from with Chris Kreider already joining the New York Rangers and the graduation of Barry Almeida and Paul Carey who combined to score 40 goals last year. Milner proved he’s one of the nation’s best goalies and might have to carry this team as it finds its way in the first half, but as usual, BC will be there in the end.

Didn't know where else to put this but HE is hiring a full time "officiating coordinator", the jokes are too easy...

Hockey East hiring full-time officiating coordinator
USCHO Staff Report • May 25, 2012

Hockey East is looking to hire a full-time officiating coordinator and hopes to have the position filled on or about July 1.

Currently, Richard Decaprio is the supervisor of officials, a part-time position, and John Jones is Decaprio’s assistant.

According to the new job description, an ideal applicant should have at least five years of officiating or coaching experience and organizational and leadership skills. The job duties also entail working with and training on-ice officials, developing a budget for the officials and will resolve conflicts between teams and officials.

The position’s salary will be commensurate with experience.

CCHA director of officiating Steve Piotrowski was recently named to a similar position for the Big Ten, starting in 2013.

To apply for the Hockey East job, go to NCAA.org or send a resume with three references by June 8 to:

Joe Bertagna
Commissioner, Hockey East
591 North Avenue
Doorway #2
Wakefield, MA 01880

Rules committee meets this week, the 2 big things being reviewed is moving from the cages to visors and OT. The last time the committee met, hybrid icing was introduced opposed to the Euro version that was being used.

I actually remember that game, snowstorm that day (went to Bs-Rangers and caught up on DVR)

Now updated with BU (another Sunday game, what a joke) and the fact that we are the 2nd game in the 1st round for the Beanpot which is surprising as BU-NU would be a better attended game than BC-Harvard if given the 8:00 slot

Yeah, normally the champion plays at 8 but it's not every year. They should just play whichever game involves 2 of BC/BU/NU at 8 every year.

To the above comment that York likes to challenge his teams, I am surprised that there are no games yet with DU, UND or any of the B1G schools. :81
