NHL Playoff Pool (Make Finals Picks)

PostPosted: Wed Apr 11, 2012 12:25 pm

Pick the winner and the number of games of each of the eight first-round series. You will get 1 point for picking the winner correctly and 2 points if you pick both the winner and the number of games correctly. This pool will continue in subsequent rounds, and the scoring will be adjusted accordingly. The poster that accumulates the most points over the entire playoffs will receive a girl of Hansen's choosing. The deadline for submission is 7:40 tonight when Pittsburgh and Philly tip off. The first round series are:

Eastern Conference:

(1) NYR
(8) Ottawa

(4) Pittsburgh
(5) Philadelphia

(3) Florida
(6) New Jersey

(2) Boston
(7) Washington

Western Conference:

(1) Vancouver
(8) LA

(4) Nashville
(5) Detroit

(3) Phoenix
(6) Chicago

(2) St. Louis
(7) San Jose

Anyone else surprised Wang doesn't have Richard Park advancing to the second round?

Hockey jerseys are awkward for any age unless you're actually on the ice.

And I'm happy that it took me all of 3 minutes to remember why I hate Vancouver. I hope Kesler's okay after getting hit by that sniper up in the rafters leading up to the first goal.

And, it took me all of three hours to remember why hockey playoffs are the best thing in pro sports.

Fuck the Flyers. The only solace I have is whomever comes out of that matchup is going to be beaten to a pulp and emotionally spent. Softened up for the 2nd round.

That's basically what I'm going for. I hope the series goes 7 and all the games go into multiple OTs. I dislike both teams a great deal, especially given the fact you can get fined if you say anything bad about Pittsburgh nowadays, though probably Philly slightly less. Scott Hartnell just melts my heart.

Exactly. I would like either of these teams to make a Finals run except they had to play each other.

I don't think supplemental discipline is in order. Although, it was a consummate jackass move and there will probably be retaliation.

Bitz, on the other hand (despite the fans chants of "bullshit" after the penalty was called), should absolutely get suspended.

If Ryan Miller and Lindy Ruff are crying and no one is listening because the Sabres are sitting at home, do they make any noise?

Not that anyone else cares about this, but Matt Cooke did the exact same thing Zac Rinaldo did in the final game of the regular season. Cooke no penalty, Rinaldo game misconduct.

Sweet.

Yes, but it's just a bummer for them.

Both should receive supplemental discipline of death because they both suck at life.
