I think it's representative that people are stupid, which I feel like I've been saying a lot this week due to the omnipotence of 9903's posts (heyyyyooooo!) but I also feel there is a slight racial issue within hockey. Not so much the fact that there are so few non-Caucasian players (I want to be inclusive of Richard Park) but just fan attitude. Of course, a vast majority has no problem with Mike Grier or Anson Carter and but there is decent percentage, larger than most would imagine from my estimation, that certainly would.

is omnipotence the word you mean there? as in my posts have unlimited power? neat.

Omnipresence. I mixed that up with impotent. Which is what your posts are.

BTW, the national broadcast was essentially a BC recruiting piece.

First Doc absolutely loves York and gives him a shoutout at every opportunity. They couldn't stop gushing about Kreider, Pierre called him maybe the fastest player in the league already.

Eddie O talked about how much he was able to see Kreider this year through NBC sports, it turned to Doc talking about "legendary Jerry York" and Pierre finished by talking about the amazing assts Brown, Cav, & Logue.

As for Kreider, he played more minutes than Gaborik and was on the ice for the last minute. After being there for 2 weeks, that's all you need to know about how Torts feels about him.

Edit: He also caused the first goal, forcing a neutral zone turnover. That was a great pass from Stepan but terrible D from Gonchar.

Everyone got the Rangers series right but no one had it going 7, Wang had a chance to really embarrass us as he was the only one who picked Florida and picked them in 7 but he still wins the 1st round anyways

It really is unbelievable. As I said above, last night was a free, national recruiting pitch for BC. They couldn't stop talking about Kreider, BC, & York

He should probably be getting 2nd unit powerplay minutes next series as well which should up his minutes & production. The fact that stands out to me though is that Torts has him out there with a 1 minute to go up a goal in game 7. For a coach that has "his guys" and constantly harps about play in your own end, to have the faith in a 20 year old kid you've had for two weeks is unreal.

He also works very well with Callahan & Stepan.

Like claver said, it was like watching a recruiting pitch for BC and Kreider was amazing. When he caught Karlson on a back check in like three steps I thought Pierre Maguire was going to have an orgasm. On CBC Cherry said he thinks he is a 30 goal scorer right now and that he and Stepan are going to be the most exciting combo in the league within the next two years.

BTW that was some move Karlson put on the 3 Rangers at the blueline.

He has work to do on his own end but for 21, he's pretty impressive.

Article on Kreider on ESPN: http://espn.go.com/new-york/nhl/story/_/id/7860890/nhl-playoffs-2012-chris-kreider-new-york-rangers-thrives-heat-game-7

"He has no fear. That's what I like about him," coach John Tortorella said of the rookie. "The biggest thing is his mindset. He's not here to test the waters. He's here to make a difference."

"You saw where I had him tonight at the end of the game," Tortorella said. "He was playing; a few other guys weren't. He deserved to be there."

Maybe AngryDick can chime in but I think it has to be Mitchell, no word on how close Boyle is though.

It has got to be Mitchell--although I will say that he played very well in the very limited minutes he got yesterday, drew a penalty, put a thunderous hit on Folgino and set Prust up for a decent scoring chance. The fact is the only other choice would be Rupp, who actually logged less ice time than Mitchell last night, but I think the Rangers want his size, ability to enforce and considerable playoff experience on the ice for 4 minutes or so a night.

I suppose that Torts could go off and bench Fodetenko, which he has done a couple of different times this year, but I think Fodentenko has been strong in his own zone and hasn't done any of the lazy Euro-dink crap that drives Torts nuts.

Agreed, I think the problem is that Mitchell doesn't bring something different.

For example, Rupp is the enforcer with a ton of experience. Torts said Rupp was one of the people in the lockerroom that talked before the game last night.

Fedotenko kills pentalties and with Boyle out I can't see Torts handicapping himself by losing another. Especially if Callahan, Dubinsky, Stepan, etc get called.

That penalty the 4th line drew was great, they really trapped Ottawa in their own end, unfortunately I believe that was the penalty that led to maybe the biggest abortion of a powerplay we've seen this series.

Again, no clue on how close Boyle is anyways as he's not even skating yet.

You won't really need an enforcer against Washington.

The same applies to Shawn Thornton and he's been a healthy scratch in each of the last two playoff series.
