Not all that concerned about the L last night. Lundqvist lets in a softie, Hagelin hits the crossbar & the puck disappears into Holtby's pants (seriously that puck just disappeared).

The powerplay is impressively brutal and when Richards is off, he's off.

Also despite his crush on him, Pierre was right on Kreider JFC just let him loose.

Watching some of the Ottawa - Canadiens Game 2. I just watched a sequence where Ottawa scored to go up 4-1. On the ensuing faceoff, White of the Canadiens winds up with a two-handed hack to the back of an Ottawa players knee. Super cheap. I loved the response as I watched 4 out of the 5 Canadiens players get their asses handed to them. Soon after, Bourque of Montreal elbows another player, then Subban gets in a fight with someone and when they're both down on the ice with a referee between them, Subban continues to punch the player. Is there another organization in any of the four pro sports as despicable as the Canadiens? Cheap little diving bitches! It's an extension of the people that make up their fanbase as well. Besides the French Fry, has anything else good come from France?

Ahh yes, the old, Holtby is no good argument and it's the Rangers making him look good. Have the Rangers had their chances? Yes. Has he been helped by the post a couple times? Yes. But the fact of the matter is he's let in one goal in two games (and it was off his own D-Man's skate). Kid has been great yet again for the 2nd playoff season in a row.

Caps bigger issue right now is Lundqvist looks awesome (aside from that 5 minute stretch in game 1). Caps have had their chances as well and haven't been able to finish. My worry is he comes up with a pair of shutouts in games 3 and 4 and Caps can't recover. First goal tonight will be huge (solid analysis right there).

AngryDick is right on one thing, blaming Torts. Barring a sweep I don't see him getting fired (not debating whether he should or not) but coaches like him have a shelf life. He's completely killed the offensive creativity teamwide. Granted, I'm a homer but the way he's handled Kreider this season has been nothing short of criminal and the first 2 games are a microcosm of it. Game 1 he was one of the better forwards despite playing w such offesnive wizards like Newbury, Asham, Pyatt, etc., guess what when he was on the ice it wasn't a shooting gallery on Lundqvist or a turnover fest. Game 2? NEED MORE GRINDERS! Insert Dorsett who has never played a game for Torts & Boyle. Kreider has 5 goals in 9 playoff games, Stepan 1 goal in 27, Hagelin 1 in 19, etc. Obviously not advocating either of them sit but JFC wasn't the Gaborik trade supposed to give offensive depth? Instead it's Taylor fucking Pyatt he who went half the season without a point is getting 2nd line & powerplay minutes.

Looking forward to Richards launching some limpwristed shot from the point into Holtbys stomach on the powerplay tonight.

You know who thinks it is the Rangers making Holtby look good? Holtby. Read the WaPo from yesterday. In a nutshell, Holtby said he hadn't been tested at all and the few dangerous chances the Rangers had hit the post. He essentially said he didn't stop a damn thing that didn't hit him square in the chest.

Holtby will be back in the minors next year just as he was sent down at the beginning of this year. The reason is simple--he sucks against any team that has a modicum of offensive competence.

What you ought to be taking away from this series to date is that Washington has been the much better team in both games. Lundqvist can stand on his head as much as he wants but the Rangers have done nothing to indicate they can get opportunities against your D.

Uhhhh, Holtby was in the minors at the beginning of the year because of the lockout. Once the season started he was in Washington. Just like lots of current NHL players. Thanks for trying though.
